no disrespect but why purchase something that's basically defective?

Well, basically, the CE2 clearo is a pretty good unit. OK, there are known issues with the plastic (particularly with acidic juices) but if you are prepared to mod them, this is a very good deal indeed.

I'm sure there was a thread around with step by step instructions.
* Basically, take a 3ml disposable syringe & pull the plunger right out - toss it away. Remove the needle and ditch that.
* Cut the needle end of the tube off tube with a dremel tool (if you have one) or a fine-bladed hacksaw at about the 1ml mark on the syringe barrel.
* Take your CE2 clearo and wiggle the battery end to free it from the plastic tube - withdraw carefully.
* Remove the silicone cup seal and washer from inside the clearo - keep these safe.
* Slide the CE2 into the syringe from the uncut end (where the 'wings' are) and press home the battery connector end so everything is flush and only the threaded portion of the battery conenctor is poking out of the end of the syringe barrel.
* Fill the CE2 with about 1.5ml of your fave juice - drip down the side of the syringe barrel or use another syringe.
* Reinsert the silicone seal, notches facing towards the ceramic cup, and slide the ring seal down so its snug up against it.
* That's it - screw onto your PV and enjoy.

Thicker juices may not wick as well as thinner ones and, sometimes, I find I have to invert the unit 90 degrees to wet the wick at the top of the cup.

Thank you so much. I have also read about enlarging the notches a bit for better wicking. Do you also recommend that, my guru.

Would these work in a MAP tank?

I did find a way to make the clearos work......I got a peice of metal tubing from the hardware store ( same size tubing that they use with the metal ce2's) cut a peice half an inch (little less) put the metal pc. at the base of your clearo, and a little super glue, and look you got a ce2 that is made just for the map-tank, & they work great !!!.....hope this helps ya !....and yes you will have to get a small pipe cetter , about 12 to 15 bucks but they work great !
