8 Days Quit using new e-cig...

Hello... been using my new Titan 510, with high strength juice for 8 days now, havent smoked a single analog :)

Im over the moon!

Fingers crossed I can keep it up, going to order some new juice and carts this week... also going to by a Wicker Tornado as charging the batteries so often is quite a pain.

One question I do have though, does anyone else feel like this is cheating slightly? I know in my head its not cheating but the more I vape the more I enjoy it and I have never been happy/content whilst quitting analogs before. One day I will kick the nic forever but until then ill vape-on!

Fingers crossed it carries on as well the last 8 days.

Cheers,

Dave

I feel a bit guilty because my sisters quit cold turkey. But I've been vaping 2 months and have found some juices I like so I am planning to work on cutting down from 18mg from 12. I stopped buying 18mg juices 2 weeks ago and I already bought my favorites and some new tasty ones in 12 so they are ready. When my 18mg supply get a bit lower I'll start switching to 12mg for some of them and finally all. So that makes me feel like I am doing something and less guilty about now vaping more than I smoked.

It's all a state of mind I think. I never even wanted to quit smoking and a series of accidents led me to these forums which led me to buying a good first kit which led to me not smoking. I don't look at it like I quit smoking so much as I quit 3996 of the chemicals in tobacco smoke.

The bottom line is I feel much better and I enjoy vaping as much as I enjoyed smoking.

2 things:

Last night I had a friend call me when she told me I didn't quit smoking because I still vaped. My argument was that "smoking" encapsulated ingesting about 4000 more chemicals (and I referred to cyanide specifically) and that all the symptoms of being a smoker had since gone away.

Also, I consider an e-cig like a nicotine patch at a lower dose. I plan on cutting all ingestion of any form of nicotine from my daily routine eventually, but at the moment, this helps me deal with the oral and sensory fixation of smoking without a lot of the harmful side-effects.

On a side note, the friend who called me out was vaping in my bed by the time we got home to watch a movie and get some rest.

Congrats on making it a week without analogs! Where's there's no smoke, there's no fire.

Its not cheating because you did quit cigarettes. In itself nicotine addiction is no worse than caffeine addiction, its the extra crap you inhale when you smoke that is what is what kills you.

I think it feels like cheating because it feels too easy, I have always associated quitting analogs with stress, anger, insomnia... pretty much every bad feeling going. But now im sitting here quite content with my Titan still with no urge to run out and buy a pack.

I actually think im going to do it this time :)

Yay Dave!! :toast: Amazing job making it eight days without the sticks! Why, back when I was a wee whipper snapper of 8 days in ...ahem … last week … I started feeling a bit guilty myself. But, vaping is healthier. And sooooo much easier than the cold turkey method. We're just obeying the old adage of working smarter and not harder, right? Heck, I think we should all be commended for our intelligence. :p You're doing awesome man! Keep it up!

/amen. I've always believed in "work smarter, not harder" My goal is to eventually get to 0MG juice, but I don't think I'll stop vaping when I get there.

If you already have the 12mg I'd say go ahead and start using that primarily instead of using up the 18 first. This keeps some of what you are used to in reserve for "craving times" like first thing in the morning or after meals. If you make a good transition to 12, you can always dilute down the left over 18 later with some VG/glycerine. It would suck to use up the 18 first then find out that 12mg doesnt do it for you all the time and have to stalk the mailman(with your unsatisfied cravings) for a few days waiting to get some stronger stuff shipped.

DonG, this is a great idea!!! I have got nearly a full bottle of 18mg so I am going to order some 12mg right now. If all goes well I will stick with the 12 and keep the last of the 18mg for "emergencies".

Im also going to have to order some new atty's as I only have 2 and if they die I will be in big trouble!

Can I ask how many batteries, atty's, carts people normally keep spare...?

Many thanks for the comments and support btw... good to come here and get a virtual pat on the back and thumbs up :)

I to am on day 8 and its feeling great. I dont feel like I'm cheating. Its like using a hammer for years than picking up nail gun, does the same job without smashing your thumb.

I like that! When I tried cold turkey or patches and gum people would hand me a cig before the day was out and say please just smoke it! LOL Now I get alot of support and questions and my anti smoking in laws let me vape in there hose and smile about it! May be to good to be true but am riding it for all it's worth till one of my kid's come wake me up and tell me i'm dreaming LOL
