801 Atty Question

So I recently switched to a 801 atty from a 510 on my Protege. Since I only have one atty that came with a rubber tip, can I not just take some Fluval and slide it into the atty and then fill it with liquid? There is plenty of room to do this compared to the 510, but this is a new animal to me and was not sure if it could be done or if anyone has tried it.

Sure you can restuff an 801 cart, I do it with great results. I try to use about 10% less than stock for better all around results.

No, I am wondering if you can put the fluval in the atty since I dont have a cart, only the rubber tip mouthpiece.

would be easier to flood and may be tough to draw air through.........I'd guess you'd get a mouthful

Sounds messy! Why not just drip?
I would think you could make a cart out of an ink pen or something as big as they are, and just tailpipe around it till you get your carts.
