So I got a new dse801 to hopefully up everything a little better from my 901. The first evening I tried it, it seemed to work well enough. But the next day and ever since, it been producing about 20% of what my 901 does, the vapor seems abnormally harsh on my throat, and the atomizer gets hot really quickly.

I've cleaned it, steamed it, let it drain, blown it out, tried different carts, different liquids, different batteries, but I just can't get it going.

Any suggestions to get this thing vaping like a 801 should?

I've just used the 2 batteries that came with it. I also have a spare that I've tried as well.

Thatron-- You describe overheating and lack of vapor which is a function in most cases of overpowering the atomizer. Are you sure these batteries do not have pressure switches that are slower then normal to shut down after taking a drag to activate them? This is quite common if e-liquid gets in there and causes the fly wheel switch to slow down because of semi-stuck switch. Overheating by overpowering is the only thing that can cause an issue where you have heat and a moist wicked mesh---but lack vapor production--ie: to much heat, so try a different power source and let us know---Sun

A battery issue makes sense. But I am stuck with the batteries I have, so a different power source is not something I can test.
Time to do some searching on battery repairin'.

So why not change a new atomizer? Cauz there are two problems related with atomizer.
1. the vapor seems abnormally harsh on my throat.
2. the atomizer gets hot really quickly.

Guess I forgot to put that in my original post, I have also switched atomizers too. I would think it was just me and I'm too dopey to vape, but I did get my Puresmoker 901 going, so I'm not completely useless.

I'm sure glad I have my 901, or I'd be smokin' a hell lot more analogs. I'm beginning to think that the penstyle and me were never meant to be. :-x

Well, I "think" I got it going. At least for a little while tonight.

I shot a blast of air in the battery, and that seemed to help with the vapor production. But the vapor was still harsh on the throat. So I switched carts and topped it up, and got a good hour of vaping tonight. I tried to pull out the filler from the previous cart and it was really REALLY stuck in there. I haven't heard of it, but I think I had a bad cartridge, if there is such a thing.

Thanks for everybody's suggestions.
