Been vaping for 8 months and FINALLY decided to try an 801... I absolutely love it! Coming from a 510 almost exclusively, I find it totally satisfying to all my vaping needs... Now, could someone be so kind as to let me know the different styles and what might make them better than a traditional 801 such as a BE112 and other types of penstyles out there

Thanks in advance

I'll take a crack at this. The following penstyles are manufactured by different companies. They have more similarities than differences (e.g., if I were to vape blindfolded a DSE801, RN4072, and Joye510, I wouldn't necessarily be able to distinguish between the first two; but I sure would be able to distinguish them from the third).

Their batteries are all virtually identical (except for the M201). [My experience with manual penstyle batteries (especially the button) has been dismal; doesn't compare to the great 510 manual batt.] What varies is their attys. The notations in blue are my personal impressions:

  • Sailebao's DSE801: the original and standard; currently high-bridge (not as good with carts); like Kleenex, penstyles (regardless of model) often are referred to as '801'; a very smooth vape; longevity has varied considerably (and I've used a lot of them)

  • First Union Technology's RN4072: quite similar but low-bridge; I've not used it

  • JoyeTech's Joye302: low-bridge with two large holes, rather than four small ones; better throat hit, harsher flavor; the only two I've tried haven't died yet

  • BestEcig's BE112: low-bridge; not quite as compatible as the above (e.g., won't work with XHALER without a special adapter); generally (although not universally) regarded as the best (pun acknowledged, but not intended); my own experience of a very small sample (three attys) was contrary – continue to function, but performance has been mediocre

  • Smoore's M201: not compatible with any of the above's batteries; will work with some Mods and adapters for 801; better throat hit, harsher flavor; the only two attys I've tried worked great and then died after three days
Explore the Model Specific Discussion forums for the DSE801, RN4072, and M201 (and search for posts about the BE112 and Joye302) to learn a lot more about these devices (and opinions/comments different from mine).

BTW, the penstyle is my favorite atty (for throat hit vaping), with its own batt* or on a Mod. [I love the 510 for non-nicotine vaping.]

* For whatever reason, I prefer the penstyle atty (with adapter) on a Kr8 battery or passthrough, rather than on the penstyle batt, even automatic (i.e., when the button issue is not a factor).
