So i have a silver cig style battery (which is what i take to work) that i bought a 808 > 510 adapter to attach a 510 clearo i had to it. now It's not working anymore. I have no idea why. I tried it on my other battery and it works fine. Check cartos on my silver battery and they work fine.

Any idea what may be causing this??

I have fully charged it and everything, cleaned it and all. Doesnt seem to work no matter what I do..

thanks for any help you may have to give.

Is the 808 battery an auto? 510 devices attached with an adapter will only work on 808 manuals.
Actually, that's not true. As long as the top part of the center post (so the part on the atomizer side) is slotted through the center in the same way the bottom of an 808 carto is, then 510 equipment will work just fine on 808 autos. The problem is finding adapters which are slotted properly. madvapes carries them, and all of the adapters I've received from them have worked fine.

Now finding a proper 901-808 adapter is a different story.

I went that route for a while early on so I could test out dripping in 510 attys on my kr808 batteries. In the end those adapters are consumables as the insulator gives out rather quickly. After going through 4 of them in a matter of a few months, I looked into just getting a simple 510 mod with removable battery.

At the time it was the rough stack (God what a crappy switch that MOD has on it. Went through 3 switches before retiring it, then dug it out of retirement to rig as a backup).

It got me away from proprietary batteries and still works today.

PS my switch is ugly but it has outlasted the stock ones by far, and by mounting the ugly switch to the side it can use tanks and RBAs which the original set up could not.

Moral: Always have a back up no matter how crappy looking it is, it can save you one day from buying a pack of smokes in a fit of withdrawals when (not if) your main PV goes belly up.

Thanks for that information about Madvapes adapters. I didn't know there were adapters that would work! Most of my gear is 808 but I have a small collection of 510 stuff and will for sure be getting some of those adapters. :)

I learned the hard way when i first got my Echo. I used MadVapes adapters for 801, 510 and 901 equipment and it all worked fine.

An 808-901 adapter is really handy to have. There's some old stock of 808 cartos out there that won't work on the "sealed" batteries, but the adapter gives it the proper airflow to activate.
