You do know there is another alternative to what you are trying to accomplish. You can use any DCT cartotank and put an XL (45mm length) 808 cartomizer in it and it will fit on your battery. Then you'd have no need for an adaptor:

Empty tank parts: Pro DCTank Tube

808-threaded cartotank replacements: 808 Single Coil XL Tank Cartomizer for the SmokTank XL
___

A pricier option:

___

If the 1.7 ohm Smoktek carto would be too warm for your liking, any other blank 45mm length stainless steel carto in 808 thread and a higher resistance will work. But if not already pre-punched with holes you'll need to do that yourself. A carto punch tool will be needed.

If you do get an adapter from MadVapes, you will likely have to take it apart and re-assemble it to get it working on auto 808's. The slot on the center thread needs to be on the 808 side of the connection. Take some tweazers and a small screwdriver and unscrew the two halves of the center pin, then flip the adapter over and screw the two halves back together.

It's the only option for adapters to work on 808 autos. In my months of research (and I mean months), this is the best I've found.

Baditude has already mentioned the 808 carto-tank option. If you don't want to bother punching your own, Smoktek sells pre-punched cartos and the same adapter as MadVapes. So does V4L.

Yes, the option sucks. But it's the only game in town.

I believe I've read other posts along these lines previously by you Johnnie, and I believe you.

My deal is I am making a slap-tastic cheapo e-pipe http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/e-pipe-models/425578-simplest-e-pipe-ever.html and I have some great volt short auto 808 batteries that I think would work well, but only 510 tanks and carto tanks. So I would need a way to hook them together and have them work.

I still don't see why you couldn't use an 808-threaded cartomizer in the tank on the pipe? Why do you want to use 510-thread cartomizers? The simplest solution is to use the same thread carto as the battery.

Oh I agree. But I already own the 808 batteries and many various 510 tanks and carto tanks, so I'd like to make them work together.

This thread just saved my life. I was looking for a reliable 808 tank shenanigan for my G6, but was lost and all over the place. I'm ordering a few of these from vapor4life because I am new I need to order at a higher price and then later I will figure out how to build, punch and become honed on my skills to become cheap.

Baditude,
can I use the 808 threaded dual coil cartomizer and order a beautiful tank from valley vapors like the sidewinder?

Sounds entirely like too much work - as is from MadVapes works just fine on my auto 808 batteries

Your best bet is stay away from vapor4life. Over priced and half the stuff is broken. I made 3 orders from them and each order had an issue.

First order sent me old dried up cartos (never said a word, kept it to myself), second order sent me a bad vv mod. Third order which was just a replacement of the second order was no different. I ended up paying over 20 bucks in shipping and got less than what I paid for. They took the tank that came with the kit but deducted the price on the refund. I ended up returning the entire product and got about 2 thirds of my money back.

I am looking for a dirt cheap, including shipping, 808 bat to 510 carto or tank adapter. Must work with auto batteries, stick style. I've seen a few out there but they are expensive with shipping or out of stock. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Have you tried smoketech.com
