808 cartomizers

I have been using the 808 from V4L for a two months now. Ordered a few of the sampler packs and loved them. I decided to get blank cartos and some liquid. I tried filling my blank cartos using the condom method and let them sit for a couple hours. For some reason, the ones i make don't taste near as good as the prefilled cartos from V4L. I just haven't gotten the hang of filling them myself. One flavor (classic mocha frap) tastes decent but sometimes give a harsh taste or the taste will last for about two dozen puffs. I don't understand what im doing wrong.

Should i be using a different method? Should i buy carto's from somewhere else (heard about the turbocarts from Vapornine but haven't wanted to leave V4L cuz i like the products)? I don't understand why the taste is so harsh sometimes or lasts for a dozen or so puffs. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I had a similiar issue... got a RY4 carto and loved it. Bought 30ml juice and blanks and it was not the same. Someone else can correct me if I am wrong but apparently the 30 ml juice is manufactured by a different co than the 5ml juices. I think I heard that the 5ml company also makes the cartos but I could be wrong. I gave up and bought juice elsewhere... still chasing that carto ry4 but since I couldn't duplicate it in a cost efficient manner I threw in the towel. Too many factors to keep track of.
