Do all cartomizers taste this bad?! 510 much better

I thought the flavors that came from V4L were just really bad, so I got some blank cartomizers and filled one with my favorite (well one of) juices.

It's tastes freaking terrible! I have been vaping this stuff for a few days on my 510 and it tastes like a completely different flavor in the Kr-808 cartomizer. If It matters I am using the condom fill method.

Is this just the nature of difference between cartomizers and cartridges that the 510 uses? It's delicious out of the 510, out of the 808....yech!!!

I would not believe this is even the same flavor had I not mixed it myself, it is that drastic.

Well, I think in general most flavors taste different at different voltages, and on different atomizers.

Some may taste better at higher voltages, some at lower voltages.
Some may taste better on lower resistance atomizers, some on higher resistance ones.

And all juices, as far as I'm concerned, taste very different with and without using polyfil material.
So I guess one question is, were you dripping the 510 or using cartridges?

I found that some of the cartomizers have an off smell and taste. Per advise from here,....open them up and let them air out for a couple of days...then fill them...good to go, worked for me.

every style atty and carto i've tried have had different tastes, also different brands pf cartos taste different.

add batteries with different voltages in the mix...

now i have not found a flavor that i actually "like" that i wouldn't vape anymore because of this, but i do have some flavors that are just "okay" that i will vapes certain ways.

Using cartridges, nothing fancy just the filler material that comes with them.

FWIW, these were from V4L.

Are there others that have a different "stock" taste? I had a bunch of carts from there, some I ordered and some samples. They all have the same bad after taste to me.

I agree with this.

Ive used the condom method to refill used prefilled cartos for my 808. Ive found that letting the carto sit overnight before vaping it really helps.

But now that I have my 510 I have to agree with Roll, the flavors just arent as good through a cartomizer on the 808 as they are dripping onto the 510.

I now use the Turbo or cool carts and they are a whole new ball game. I HATE prefilled cartos. All of them. I like the flavor on a 510 but I think the best flavor is a 401. Whenever I get a new juice, I test it on the 401 first to see what it really tastes like. If I like it and don't get that flavor on another pv, I go back to the 401.

Ah, these carts that taste awful were not pre-filled....I am going to try the air em out method.


It's bizarre I tell ya, the juice I like so much that I have been on the past few days is delicious in the 510. In these cartomizer they are awful, awful awful.

i got a five pack of cartos for my 510 and they taste horrible as well. I dont think I am going to keep using them. Completely ruins any good flavor...

I have tried so hard to love cartomizers but the taste is not the same and kind of funky tasting,imo. The 510 cartos taste different to me than the Kr8 ones, go figure.

Its one of those things. I'm still experimenting, but I got some 510 cartos from VaporKings and I have found some of my juices taste great in them, and others it completely changes the flavor. Just like others have said, there's plenty of factors involved such as voltage. I have some juices that taste great at 3.7 and those same ones taste totally different at 5. Just have to experiment. Nice thing, if you can find some juices that taste good in cartos, you don't have to refill nearly as much! Maybe try some 510 cartos instead of 808s.

The 510 I am not using cartomizers, just the cartridges filled with juice (the juice I like, not pre filled)

The 808 only has cartomizers; this thread is purely about the 808 cartomizers as I have never even tried one for the 510. And as of this point I really have no reason to.

My Freedom Smokes Inc. His warranties are great and his customer service is wonderful. If you check his thread here, he often has 40% off hardware. It may be on now. I am not sure.

Actually, the 808 has an atty available, too. I use it to drip on my PT. I prefer the taste over regular cartos but nothing makes the 808 taste better than turbo (and possibly cool) cartos by vapornine and V4L. Don't buy them prefilled, though.
