I found this 808D to 510 adapter, which it says that i can use 510 atomizer with 808D battery. Is there a difference between 808D-1 and 808D? I own the smoov battery which it says 808D-1 on the description and i was wondering if i could use this adapter to use the 510 atomizer or even the 510-T atomizer with my 808D-1 battery. Also someone said that 510-T is LR and that it will damage my battery if i do this. Does anyone know if this is true?

WELCOME TO THE ECF

That adapter will work fine and will allow you to use just about any type of 510 carto out there. I do that with my VOLT batteries sometimes. Atomizers aren't recommended for something like a smooth since the battery is unsealed. Which means if a drop of juice was to make it in there then that will ultimately kill your battery.

Not sure if the 510-T has horrible leaking issues or not. But, what I said above will apply as well. Unless you have yourself a manual battery. I'm sure the 510-T LR will be fine since it's made to work with a small batt such as the smooth.

Welcome to ECF.

No. However, there is a difference between the 808D-1 and the 808D-2. The adapter you have us linked too will work.

I own the smoov battery which it says 808D-1 on the description and i was wondering if i could use this adapter to use the 510 atomizer or even the 510-T atomizer with my 808D-1 battery.

Yes you can use it with the 510 but not sure about the 510-T (I don't have any experience with the 510-T).

Also someone said that 510-T is LR and that it will damage my battery if i do this. Does anyone know if this is true?

Yes it's true. NEVER use LR with a battery smaller than 650mah. Even then you're still risking the life of a bigger battery. LR draws too much current and overheats the MOSFET switch in the batteries causing premature death. LR should only be used on mods that can properly fire the atomizers/cartomizers.

yes 510 adapters on 808 batteries are an excellent idea. there's a great thread evaluating voltage of different batteries and kanger (808) was a surprise hit.

i would recommend the latest ones i got from good prophets, they are well made, but the inner terminals were reversed. for me it only works with flat side toward 808 battery and smaller pin toward 510 atty. maybe the manufacturer messed up? anyway it's easy to pop the middle part out and reverse, but not so easy to get them reseated.

Thanks for the help! i was wondering why the guy said that my 808 battery will be damaged if i use with 510-T. The 510-T is compatible with 510 battery and they are 180mAh/280mAh and my smoov battery is 320mAh which is higher then the 510. Now i know for sure that i can buy the adapter and try out the 510 mods. Oh and I do have manual battery and I just need to stay away from the LR and ego atomizers.

only thing i don't like about the carto is that i can't try all the flavors i have w/o buying alot of cartos. I bought the JC sample pack of VG and PG and total of 20 small bottles of different flavors. I bought these sample packs not knowing about the cartos or anything about ecigs. Now i can't even try them all because the carto will mix the flavors if i reuse them.

You can get one for 99 cents at Goodprophets

808 to 510

BTW - Slim ecigs use cartos from 2.5 to 3 ohms. You can potentially damage the batteries with anything lower. If you want to use low resistance or dual coil cartos, buy a 450mah+ fat battery model or mod (and sometimes even a fat battery model can be damaged by stuff under 1.7 ohms)

I've already seen this post and some of the other youtube vidoes on how to clean carto, but alot of peoploe say that they just end up damaging the carto instead of actually cleaning them. I am guessing there are types that you can clean and types that you can't. Maybe i'll give it a try on my smoov carto. I saw this post from a guy named Mookie saying about how he boiled the smoov carto and completely destroyed it after.

@dormouse .... too late i already orderd 2 of them for $8 with shipping .... lol if you have told me a little bit sooner.. And the 2.5 to 3 ohms, does this apply for attys as well or just cartos? I don't even want the LR, i just want to be able to use an attomizer and tank of any kind. I think by next month i am going to buy a EGO-T set to use at home and carry the Smoov with me for when i go out. Or is there a better one then the EGO that is not too expensive like some of the crazy big battery mod?

Well, i got my 808 to 510 adaptor today and everything is working like a charm. I am using my 808 battery on my 510-T atty and EGO-T atty w/o any problems. I guess i should still stay away from LR stuffs.

awesome. it's not that there's anything wrong with 808 cartos. 510 just opens you up to more options. it's a classic interconnection battle. for some insight on how these folks try to tip the market, read Information Rules
