This is why most of us don't buy auto switch devices any longer. Just not worth the hassle. I would suggest getting a manual switch device and these problems will disappear.

My new 901 manual switch usb passthru sometimes gets stuck 'on' - it got so hot it melted a cartridge into the atomizer and I can't get it out. I have to unplug it from the USB port, let it cool, then plug it in again. This has happened about 6 times in the first day.

I also got a shipment of five auto batteries from China, and they were all 'on'. I tried one of the five by putting it into my charger, let it charge for a few hours, and then tried it. It worked fine and is no longer stuck 'on'. Two of my remaining four from the shipment still occasionally turn to 'on' if I move the package, but at this point I'll assume they're really ok.

Jeannie, I made this assumption and four of the five are bad. They will not charge. One of them came on and stayed on and it had not been moved. I took it outside expecting it to blow but it did not, it went out sometime during the night. I bought these back in April or May thinking I would have back up parts and now it is too late for replacements.

The manual batteries for the 901 are very new, just coming out the last few weeks, so I suspect there will be issues. I also don't like that they built in an 8 second cutoff into the 901 manuals although at 8 seconds it should not be a big issue.

Personally, the bigger battery manuals such as the Screwdriver, GG, etc are the most trouble free devices on the market.

Well, so far I've tried 3 of my 5 new batteries after giving them a charge, and they all seem to work fine (the other two are charging now). BUT I've also discovered that this set seems to have 2 red LEDs instead of 1 red and 1 green. I tried puffing past the 5 second cutoff on each of them and got red blinks instead of green ones. I can live with that.

My new USB passthru manual 901 had gotten stuck 'on' twice more today, ruining another cartridge. When it gets stuck, it doesn't always leave the red LED light on - it just starts boiling the liquid and getting incredibly hot. I'll write to the supplier in the morning. I'm taking the precaution of unplugging it from my USB port if I leave the computer even for 'a minute'.
