can someone point me to a battery cleaning thread. (i did dry the search but no luck)

or a battery dismantling thread for the 901 auto battery.

my battery just flashes green 5 times when i put it in charger. the charger just stays green.

with an atty attached it does not activate or any led color when i draw.

i think its the vavlve/senser as ive been direct driping with it.

any tips/threads on cleaning auto batteries? what solution to use, how long toi let it dry before i try it etc.

im pretty sure its not dead ie it has good voltage inside as ive hardly used it.

any advice appreaciated, thanks

Hi Nad, the only type of battery cleaning I have read about are wiping the threaded end with an alcohol wipe to clean the threads and I think I read once where people will blow through the led end to get out excess fluid and then stand the battery on its threaded end for several days to let it drip dry out. I don't think that is your problem however.
I don't think you are charging it correctly. When you first put the battery into the charger and it makes contact it will flash as you described and that is what it is supposed to do. BUT, it still will not charge if it's not seated correctly. You have to gently push the battery into the charger while turning. I have noticed with some chargers I even have to do a little opposite turn to seat it correctly before proceeding to turn it clockwise. The push/turn is like with a child protective cap on a medicine bottle only much gentler and the reverse seating turn is like when you are trying to screw on a jar lid but have to reverse it first to seat it in the threads right. After trying these, does the charger now turn red? If so, leave your battery on for 8 hours. I've heard some people take them off as soon as the light turns green and I've never found that to be good enough. One well charged 901 battery lasts me all day at work.

If this doesn't work for you then I have more questions. Is this the charger that came with the battery you are using? Some chargers work better with some batteries than others even in the same model family. I don't know what you mean about the valve sensor, are you dripping into the battery? If so, don't do that!! I can't imagine you are as you say you've still got good voltage.

One more thought, perhaps your atty and battery aren't making good contact with each other. Get a paper clip and straighten out the end. Insert into the hole in the threaded end of the battery just slightly and gently try to pry up the contact. Work your way around the circle pulling up just a bit all the way around. Now do the same to your atomizer and then screw the parts back together. They should make better contact now and if that was the problem then it should be fixed.

Be careful with your dripping. Just 3-4 drops in your atomizer on the bridge is plenty. You should wait a few seconds in between drops to let the liquid absorb too. If you hear a gurgling sound when you draw then there is too much liquid in there and you need to blow some out of you atty. I hope some of this advice helps you, let me know how it turns out, would you? Dee

Dee gave you some great directions for checking your battery and charger. The only things I can add are:

According to Battery University, the Lithium Ion technology doesn't require a certain length of time on the charger. If the charger is lit green, it indicates a full charge and you can remove and use it right away. Some batteries arrive with partial charges these days, so may not take long to charge. Also, the instructions for charging included in starter kits are left over from old battery technology and don't apply to the current e-cig batteries.

Since you drip, and use an automatic I'd think it is a liquid issue. I used an auto 801 for quite a while and didn't drip but found that my battery would still accumulate quite a bit of liquid through the air draw hole on the battery.

I got in the habit at night of sticking a small twist of tissue paper into the hole and leaving the battery sitting vertical with the ash cap end up at night to remove as much of the liquid as possible.

If I noticed that the auto battery was having difficulty (blinking or not charging right) I'd take a paper clip wire and jiggle it inside the air hole end to dislodge the switch (which can sometimes stick from liquid). Tapping the fitted end on a hard counter top sometimes can work to dislodge a stuck switch.

Also, cleaning your charger connections periodically is advised. Unplug it, use a cotton swab and barely dampen with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol to clean the contact. Also clean your battery and atomizer contacts. A good microfiber cloth also works well on battery and atomizer connections. Cleaning each time before you charge a battery is recommended.

If all this fails, an inexpensive USB charger can be purchased to check to see if perhaps you have a bad charger.

Best advise is to purchase and try out a manual battery to see if you like it since you enjoy dripping. Be aware you'll have to purchase an adapter to be able to charge it in a standard 901 charger if you do (because of the button placement on the manual).

Good luck and Happy Vaping! :vapor:
