I read that the 901 tips will fit the 510, is this true? I want to try out the flat/whistle tips. Let me know if you have tried the 901 tips on the 510. If it's a pain in the but or if you have to mod the tips in a way to make them fit then I'll just stick to the 510 tips.

But I think I read somewhere that the 901 flat/whistle tips were better than the 510. I'm about to place an order and need to know which one to get. I'll probably get both but I need to know if 901 tips will fit the 510.

The magic word is tips.

There are 3 types of 901 whistle tips that I know of:

"0" type where there is 2 rounded and 2 flat sides:

[this is a 510 but some 901's are "0" types]

"D" type where there is only 1 flat surface:

Two piece type:

All of these fit the 510.... sometimes better than the 510 cartridges, esp. after heating/cooling. Some of the 901's are more snug. I've only found one that needed some filing to fit. I got them from freshsmoking.com and they were the 'brown/cork filter' color. I like the "0" type from dietsmokes but they're out of them now.

I run the 901 SLB "Whistle tips" on my 510.. and have been doing it that way for many months. They are the only carts that I like on my 510.

Not only do they have a bit more capacity than the 510 carts, you can be less concerned about "aligning" the cartridge to the atomizer. As a matter of fact, I don't align them at all. I just put the tip on so I have the manual battery button in my preferred position.. and vape away.

P.S. I got my 901 whistle dips (D-profile) from Rob at Vaporkings.

I'll check them out. I had bad D styles from eastmall early on. They had the end piece that came out easily but I've seen some that are now solid and am using a few of those. Forgot where I got them though ;-)

I still like the "0" style for the straw mod (straw along rounded edge away from the bridge). I'm using it along with the foam plug at the top. The rest of the cart well is all juice.

I've learned a little trick on the 901's that have the mouthpiece inserts that like to pop out.

When I first get one, I make sure that the mouthpiece insert is completely pressed in. Then I run a flame from my Bic lighter (left over from the analog days) over the mouthpiece..... just the tip. That "gels" the plastic just a little bit. Not only does that usually ensure that the insert doesn't come out, it also smooths out any molding flash and imperfections.

Good trick. I haven't seen any of them but then I'm usually looking for the 0 type but the two piece also aren't bad. I'll try that one the D types I have left. Thanks.
