I have just a couple questions about using the vapor king before I order. First off I've never bought an e cig before so I'm still learning. Could you please take a couple minutes and answer these ? for me?

1) Would it be cheaper to order some extra juice to refill the cartomizer myself when it runs low instead of throwing the cart. out and using a new one?

2) Does their liquid come with a dropper?

3) Wondering if I should just order the VG juice, it seems like from what I've read there may be less side effects and is better for you??

4) I smoke marlboro lights currently about 16-17 a day 1/hr. Thinking of ordering the 24 mg cart. Does that sound right? I hate the peppery taste of nicotine so I don't want to taste that at all. I tried the prescription nicotine inhaler once and after a tiny drag was couphing over the sink!

5) what flavor would you recommend to cover the peppery taste? I also don't like the tabacco flavor?

6) I was looking at the starter kit for about 49.00 but heard it comes with the "old" batteries and that the newer ones are better. What's the difference? I really don't want to spend a lot more than that (less would be even better!) until I know I will like and be able to vape.

Any other advice would be appreciated too!

Thanks so much!

i'd go lower nic to start, maybe 11 or 18. but it's so different for everyone...

i'd go menthol to cover the peppery taste, or tart (like the pineapple), or spicy (cinnamon/clove flavors, except the spiced cider which i didn't really get)

only the 'value' kit comes with old batteries, just check the description--it'll say if it comes with old. the other kits all come with new and there are lower cost ones.

the liquid bottles have dropper tops

yes, refilling is cheaper, but i'd order a fair amount of pre-filled carts to start you off till you get used to refilling. all kits over 59.00 come with 2 packs (10 carts) of carts atm. just specify which two flavs you want!

and ask all the questions you have! :D

24 mg sounds about right. Order some vg and regular ones. I found I didn't enjoy the tobacco flavors so treat yourself to a flavor you know you'll like. As for the older battery situation, I would suggest ordering the ones with the newer batteries, it is only a 20 dollar difference. Because you are new I would suggest ordering the cartomizers first instead of juice, some find they love the process of refilling, but others (like me) enjoy the simplistic design of cartomizers. Its all about preference and finding what works for you. In the beginning my suggestion is to keep it simple, refilling does take some practice.

Hope this helps!

I'd recomend 24mg as well, I think it's a "happy medium" to start with, if it's too strong cut it down with some lower nic juice.

They have several "sampler packs" for you to choose from. Get a couple of those and find what you like. Shipping is normaly three days so try some, find what you like then order more.

It's a lot cheaper to refill, but I am finding the hassle might not be worth the savings. It's so nice just to grab a new carto and go. It's not that hard, but I don't find the refill's lasting as long as the new carto's. That's all personal feelings though.

I am looking foreward to the VG as well, my digestive tract isn't fairing well with the PG, but it's better than smoking!

If you read the descriptions on the website it states which kits come with the old and new batteries, as well as which ones have single and multiple logos. Take some time, read the descriptions carefully, it took me some time as I was excited about it as well!

Good luck!

1) I would start with just the carts for now. When they are finished, put them some place safe for when you start to refill, don’t throw them out. You also stated that you don’t like the nicotine taste and if you over fill your carts you will taste it.

2) The bottle comes with a dropper tip, so yes.

3) Like others have said, I would order both and see which one you like better. I haven’t tried the VG, but Ive heard here that the throat hit is not as good at the PG.

4) For Marlboro lights I would guess you would be at an 18 or 24. Probably closer to 18, however it depends on the person.

5) I would try some of the sampler packs to start with. I personally use coffee as my daily vape. It has a good throat and lung hit and I like the taste. 555 also has a nice taste, but a mild hit.

6) Like the others have said, the starter kits should come with the new batts and the stuff in the sale section should be the old ones.

P.S. I would also ad that I prefer manual batts over the automatics. I have both and find that the manual batts seem to give better vapor.

everyone varies on the batteries because i love my auto's, my regular sized auto, with the menthol flavors, or coffee, produce VERY good vape. i'd also chime in in recommending that juice refilling is cheaper, once you have a good stock of cartos (i have... well. too many, LOL) it's super easy to do and trust me, if i can, you can.

i do know that manual batteries are rumored to be better because there's no chance of overfilling a cart to wreck the battery, but i haven't had that happen yet with my autos.

and the menthols (cools and i hear the smilin) are good for covering the peppery taste. :)

I definately prefer manuals, but I think auto's also have their place. If you want a good analog to e-cig transition flavor, I would go with Hilton. Although I'm not a fan now that my sense of taste is mostly back in full force, for a while, I swore by it. Not peppery at all, but tobacco flavored enough to be 'comfortable' (I didn't like the fruity/sweet/generally yummy flavors at first).

Just my $0.02, Good Luck

I thought somewhere on this forum I read that PG was safer than VG. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I can't remember anything saying PG was harmful at all. Some people have an adverse reaction to it, but that can be said about almost anything.

In fact, PG has been proven useful in hospitals and other places where a lot of people are in a confined space. Atomized into the air, it is extremely effective at killing bacteria and (I think) airborne viruses. I believe that was proven in a 1940-something study.

I'm the odd one here, but at least I can explain why. Lights, based on your level of analog use would indicate that you should start with something less than 24mg. I would think 18mg to start.

A part of my reasoning is that you smoke lights, if the 24 is too strong and you use a lower mg juice to cut it you will also cut the flavor if you can't find the same juice. The worst that could happen if it isn't string enough is that you might vape more until you get something stronger or figure out what you like.

Don't mean to be contrary.

unfortunately they are out of most juice but say they will have some more soon , so it would be a good idea to get a few extra carts to hold you over till they do get more juice in . be sure to watch the refilling videos as well . some one posted a refilling trick in a thread . that involves spinning the cart to get the juice well soaked in . the vapor king i highly advise to get . good luck with vaping .

I would definitely go with a lower nic than 24. I smoked 1.5 packs of menthols regs a day & the 24's knock me on my ....! 8-o I started with the 18's which were still rather strong and am leveling down to 11's now. But each person is different. My boyfriend smoked Marlboro lights (about 1 pack a day) and the 18's are perfect for him. He found that the Hilton and Parliaments are the closest to the Marlboro lights in flavor. ;)

As far as batteries go, again that is definitely a preference thing. If you are ordering a 2 battery kit, I would suggest making a comment requesting one manual and one auto battery - you can decide for yourself which one you prefer. My daughter did not want anything to do with the manual but once she tried one, she finds that she prefers the manual over the auto. There seems to be more control over your vaping with the manual since there is a learning curve on how to draw satisfactorily from the auto's. The boyfriend prefers the auto when he's driving and playing on the computer for hands free vaping. Again, it's all about personal preference.

Welcome to the V4L family - you will have fun experimenting with all the products that they have! Feel free to ask away with your questions!

Where's Adrenalynn when you need her?

I don't have nearly her knowledge, but I think the argument was:
PG has been widely used (as PawPaw said), so there is data to support it's safety.
While VG is supposed to be "natural", there has been no data collection regarding chemical changes after atomizing to prove it's safety...

There are well over 26,500 people on this forum (ECF) at any given moment 6,000 are current posters, out of those I would guess 2% have a P.G. problem. It's not pleasant for those people, but they seem to have better luck with the V.G.
P.G. is found in toothpaste, make up and ice cream, so chances are you have had it many many times. It's in the inhalers used by lung transplant patients. V.G. and Glycerin are basicly the same thing, but glycerin is thicker. I use glycerin to boost vapor production. (a few drops in my liquids).
Try both and see what you think. Thanks to Vapor4Life we have choices now.

Thats correct there has been a bunch of studies dating as far back as the late 40s that support PG as being generally safe for inhalation up to prolonged exposure up to the point of saturation and it's used in inhalers and breathing treatments..As long as it's USP grade PG it's pretty well known..
VG is less well known as far as effects go...it is known there something like only one or 2 major manufactures of USP glycerine and that glycerine is rendered one of 3 ways and apparently it can vary from batch to batch be it vegetable, animal, or petrochemical (I guess whichever is cheaper) I have read on here stories of people that suddenly have had bad reactions to the same brand of VG that they'd been using for months...
So yeah,PG is generally seen as safer unless you have a known sensitivity to PG..and the fact that your throat is dryer or scratchier should not automatically be taken as you having a sensitivity (remember PG drys you out some, drink more water)

wow, I've read far too much all over these boards.. lets see if I can bring up some of those pg links..
