On day three of my journey to finding a replacement for my misitic e cigs, I came across this beauty: https://www.fasttech.com/products/0...s-5-in-1-usb-rechargeable-900mah-electronic-c

Less then $12 for a battery, charger, case and clearomizer?!

Anyone have experience with this company? Is this a good intro level PV? At such a good price, I'm thinking about ordering three.

It's a 900mah so that should last aprox 9hrs of vaping time, correct?

or should I be going with this -> https://www.fasttech.com/products/0...s-6-in-1-usb-rechargeable-900mah-electronic-c or even this https://www.fasttech.com/products/0...e4s-ledp-6-in-1-usb-rechargeable-650mah-elect

It's quite an overwhelming market out there! Do all these models use comparable threading, for the inevitable need to replace parts?

While the batteries won't be quite up to the quality of name brand eGo's, for the price, you can't go too far wrong. I would recommend either of the 2 battery/2 clearomizer kits. If you are going to be using it "on the go" you might opt for the shorter 650mah batteries, but of course run time is significantly better with the 900mah batts. I like 650mah batteries for an ideal compromise of vaping time versus ease of carrying around on me.

As far as how many hours? Really it is up to how much you vape, but 7 to 9 hours on a 900mah battery is reasonable, as is 5 to 6 hours on a 650mah battery. Keep in mind, lighter vapers may go a full day or more even on a 650mah battery.

In my experience, I vape more than I smoked because you can vape in many more places...

You really want at least a 2 battery/clearomizer kit to start with both for flexibility, and what if one battery does die prematurely? Nothing worse than having to wait for a replacement with nothing else to use, right?

The standard eGo threading offers the widest compatibility of accessories/replacement parts with both eGo threading (the outside threads) and 510 threading (the inner threads), so you are in good shape there.

Awesome thanks for the replies! Yeah, I'd love to buy American, but the price differences on hardware are unreal! I'll definitely be buying American Made and American sold E-Juice, but I need to read up more on that.

Ok so, Pete C2 noted that the:

So what does this mean as far as buying extra clearomizers, atomizers, tanks etc. <--I know the terms, and that they're use is normally preferred over traditional solid/liquid medium carts (found in most gas station e-cigs), but how do I navigate my way through sizes/threading/etc.? What will fit? Should I be looking for anything that is either labeled as 510 thread or eGo size accessory?

Hi Penn23,
Yes, you want items with 510 or EGO threads.
Not many people can comment on fast/slowtech - new.
If you read the 1 review on the 2 battery kit, the clearo was leaking constantly. Also, i saw that it was a 2.8 ohm atty - might be a little high for your liking.
The batteries may be ok, I don't know.
I wish I could be more help.
I would advise you to get a known reliable clearo or two - Vision Vivi Nova mini, Kanger T2 and some Smoktech 1.7 ohm cartomizers.

Welcome to Sure Vapes LLC !
Here is one good place to look at. Good luck

They are knock offs from China and in this world, you get what you pay for. Everytime I have ever ordered from overseas, especially china, I have lived to regret it. Spend a few more dollars and go with a reputable vendor. Especially in vaping, you want equipment that will last and work when you need it to. Sure China has cheaper knockoffs, because the quality is less.

Cool. Again, thanks for all the help! So i think I'll go ahead and buy a katana kit from dojo and some extra clearos. If I purchase back up batteries from fasttech will I still be able to use the same charger? I they are the same mAh ? How about different mAh?

Also, how often do clearos need to be trashed? I realize this depends on use/care. But just a ballpark answer would be great.

Thanks for answering all these newb questions!

Here you go, Penn23, atleast they are here in the suppliers forum.
Don't forget, China does not always have the best QC. Don't make the mistake of buying alot until you know the product is ok. I made that mistake a year ago - bought a five pack of clearomizers and none could hold liquid
Almost a year ago when I spent some time looking at China, I figured the market was going to be flooded with lower cost products.
How often do clearos need to be trashed? Thats the issue, if its bad from the beginning, then soon. Also a good idea to clean this stuff before first use - hot water min. I have a Vision Vivi mini that I started using Nov. 5th and just a week ago replaced the plastic tube, which is possible with the name brand.
Bottom line, I wanted to quit smoking in June and I wanted something with the best probability of working. As Kent mentioned, I bought Joyetech and am still using those batteries today.
What i don't like about fast/slow tech is they don't give enough details with their products.

Awesome guys! Thanks for all the help. I put my order in this afternoon. :toast: Went with the katana dojo kits. I figure I already have tons of AC to USB (5V 0.2A) converters so I didn't pick one of those up. I'm gonna order some extra batteries from fasttech (since you can't beat the price). I can get three 650mAh and one 900mAh variable voltage battery - all for for under a total of $20! Just might take a few weeks :glare: .

First of all, I have never bought from FastTech (thinking to get a Vamo from them later thought.) And, I am not advocating you to buy or not to buy from them. I want to comment on some questionable opinions in this and other threads in regard to vendors in China.

As far as I know and I am pretty sure about it, FastTech is not a manufacturer. It’s an online shop just like any one in the USA, Europe, India, whatever. They get their products from wholesalers and then sell them to you. So, the fact that their office is located in Hong Kong, China, doesn’t have anything to do with their products. Now, as you all know, most e-cig stuffs are made in China (heck, most everything is now made in China). So, a store in Austin, TX gets products that are made in China. A store in Oxford, England sells products that are made in China. A store in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil sells stuffs made in China. Heck, your iPhone you buy in an Apple Store in Any City, USA, are made in China! So, it is not logical at all to say that you won't buy from a store b/c it is located in China b/c China products are unreliable. It just doesn't make sense!

Some people say QC is bad in China. First, what difference does it make the store who sells them is located in Richmond, VA or Hong Kong if both stores' stuffs are made in China? If the QC is bad, both stores get the same poor quality stuffs! Second, how strict the QC is depends on the vendors who order the stuffs, not the manufacturer. Let me elaborate on this. Apple's iPhone, iPad and computers are manufactured by Foxconn in China. Apple sets the standards and demands quality. Apple will reject any shipment that doesn’t pass the muster. So Foxconn has strict QC on Apple stuffs b/c it doesn’t want to lose money by having Apple rejects the shipment. Some smaller brands/knock-off vendors don’t care. They only want the stuffs made cheaply so that they can sell them to you cheap. Because quality is not a concern with the these vendors and so QC is not a concern with the manufacturer. This happens in any factory, in any city, any country. It depends on the vendors not the location of the factory or the ethnicity of the labor force.

Generally, brand name stuffs are better b/c they have a reputation to protect and so they set a higher standard for the manufacturer to follow. And, again, it doesn’t matter the stuffs is manufactured in China or Texas. Period. Knock-offs doesn’t have a reputation to protect, so they MAY not care about quality. Having said that I have actually got knock-offs that are better than the name brand stuffs they copy. It’s rare but it happens.

I hope people would stop speaking about China made stuffs like they are inherently bad b/c it’s China made. Heck, China is one only 3 countries that can put a man in space. They can’t be that incompetent!

Generally though, I do prefer to buy from US vendors if the price difference is not that big b/c:

  1. I want to put the $$ in the US economy ... heck we need that!
  2. Oversea shipping is expensive. FastTech ships free to you but I don't know their policy on return merchandise. If I have to pay to return damaged items then it is probably not worth the risk. Anyone knows their return ploicy? They pay or you pay for the shipping back?
  3. It's difficult to check an oversea vendor's reputation and in some countries you may not get the same consumer protections as we do in the US. But many ECF members buy from FastTecj and it seems to have a very good reputation.
