The reason for the question is this.
I had a vv box that ran on 2 14500 Li-Ion that went the way of Elvis. So I just ordered a Don, which is a 3.7v volt mod in a single 18650 configuration. My Carto's are now all DC 3.0hm what worked great on the vv.
I also have a 3.7v box that uses 1 14500. I'm using the 3.7v single battery now on the 3Ohm carto's and I'm less then impressed to say the least.
So to get the best experience out of my new Don do I need to change to other types of carto's or will the 18650 give me better results, vape wise, then I'm getting from the 14500 box>
Thanks

edit: Im not sure weather the 18650 is Li-Ion or LiMN

Yes, that I know, what I'm trying to find out is will the 3ohm cartos perform better on the 18650 battery or will I have to change to lower ohm carto's

I saw this question about two days ago. But I can't find the post! I think it was in the mod section somewhere. This forum is so big and moves so fast! Sometimes it's hard to find things. I'll look again.

It is always fun waiting for the replies of the gifted electronic wizards :). I always find it amazing the different talents and propensities people have.

Yes, waiting can be fun if the wizard comes by and helps.
Not so much fun when the wizard is off doing other wizard things.

...fresh off the charger, both will have the same voltage and give the same vape...the consistency of the 18650 will be longer because it has more mah to give you...to get a better vape, you will have to go to a lower resistance carto...the 1.7ohm single coil cartos from Smoktech will give the best vape on a 3.7vPV...these are available from crystalclearvaping.com (theResurrectors), hoosierecigsupply.com, madvapes.com and other vendors.........

What you need to remember about batteries is that the rated "voltage" is actually just an average. Fresh off the charger, most 3.7V batteries will actually put out about 4.2V but that will drop a bit from the "load" of the atomizer and then slowly diminish over time. The bigger the battery, the slower the voltage will decrease.

The number that really matters most is Wattage. Wattage is the measure of total power--more watts means more heat, more heat means more liquid can be turned into vapor. A 3ohm atomizer running at 4.2V (freshly charged battery) generates about 4.5W which isn't bad, but most people find they like the flavor and vapor production best with about 7-10W. The Darwin by Evolv (or mods "Kicked by Evolv" that will be coming out this year!) does the math for you and allows you to just select the wattage you want and it will test the resistance (ohm rating) of the atomizer and adjust the voltage to create the wattage you select. Alternately, you can get a Variable Voltage mod like the ProVari or Lava Tube that allows you to change the voltage from 3-6V, but if you want to know the wattage you'll need to find out the resistance of the atty and do some math. (Easy way: use Ohm's Law Calculator )
