I was referred here by a fellow MMO player on one of the OT forums. I purchased an FS-510 from a vendor I saw here a few weeks ago as well as some juice. It was a nice deal as it all shipped for under fifty bucks. Unfortunately, on day six, one of the batteries failed. I emailed the vendor and they promptly sent a replacement. I was quite happy as good customer service is hard to find these days. Now I'm in week three and that battery as well as the other original are failing as well.

Is this common? Having looked at other models for some time now, they all seem to be twice the price or more which is a bit discouraging. I originally started looking at the janty sticks and similar models as I believe that is what would suit me but figured (and read) that the 510 was a good kit to start with. I have thoroughly enjoyed vaping thus far and haven't had an analog since I got my kit. I just seem to have gotten off to a rotten start.

My favorite flavors have been menthol and hazelnut, man I love the hazelnut! If I ever find a cinnamon juice and get vaping properly I'll be in heaven. I'm still reading up but haven't decided where to go from here. I'm not sure it's worth the trouble to contact the vendor again and can't really decide on another model, if any I should get. So that's my story. Thanks for this great resource and to all the people that have contributed articles and videos as they helped me immensely.

Hi and welcome to ECF. Your kit has already paid for itself in cost saved in smokes, Replacing a battery is already paid for. You may want to consider moving to a big battery style eGo or clone they are more costly but the batteries last much longer per charge and you can use low resistance atomizers which will give you more heat and more vapor than a standard 510 battery with a normal atty. As for a Cinnamon vape I haven't tried ti but Atomic Cinnacide from Tasty Vapor has received rave reviews.

If you have any more questions don't be afraid to ask we are here to help.

Yeah, but Keyzygirl asked the critical question, at least the 1st critical one. If he gets auto batteries with the other devices and that's his issue, he'll have the same problems.........

Rykuss... don't feel too bad... there's a learning curve, and none of this stuff lasts forever. 6 days/3 weeks is a bit short, tho. Tell us about your setup: type of battery, ohm rating on the carto/atty if you happen to know it, or can provide us with a link.

I'm currently using the basic atties and carts that came with the kit. The batteries according to the kit info on the webpage says they are manual (180 mAh). When I place them on the charger, the LED stays on until it's charged as normal. Taking it off the charger, it flashes twice as normal. It's using it, pressing the button, when the problem starts. The batteries are supposed to be five seconds and then flash twice to indicate it's been longer than five seconds and cut off automatically. Now I have to unscrew the atomizer from the battery because it won't shut off.

The LED flickers on and off randomly and the only way I've found to make the battery shut off is to unscrew it from the atomizer and stand it on it's end.

Well, I'm signing off in a sec; I was hoping to help out before your last battery died and you had to resort to cigs.

Some things you may wish to check:

I'd say those batteries usually last at least a couple hundred charges, but only about an hour of vaping per charge. Your 3 weeks is a bit short (my guess), which makes me suspect other issues. If they are dead, there's not much I can say other than get a larger battery model. However, sometimes they seem to fail, but can still be OK. Check:

1) Assuming that the light still goes on when you plug it into the charger (or at least blinks), clean the connector. It gets gunked up and/or oxidized and makes for a poor connection.
2) the 510 connectors are funny little things.... they have a rubber/silicone insulator around the center post (the positive connection). Now, over time, this center post sometimes gets pushed down a bit and either doesn't connect with the charger, or doesn't connect with the atty. If cleaning doesn't help, try using a bent paper clip to pry the center connector up a little. This can also happen to the atties, with the same solution.
3) If you happen to have a voltmeter, see if the battery shows voltage. That won't tell you as much as you might think, since it is not under load, but will tell you if there is any current at all.
4) Juice can get into the button area and short things out. SOMETIMES, it will dry out and work again. Other times the protection circuit can trip and so long battery.

Just some thoughts.

Good Luck!

I normally don't recommend this to a new person but here is my advice. Please consider either a 3.7v box mod or an Icon from puresmoker.com. If you go with an Icon, please buy a couple extra batteries from them. It's an awesome mod and will allow you to use LR atomizers safely. They are all mechanical mods and well worth the money. After I got mine, I sold all of my eGo batteries for the exception of one which is dead. I use it to tear stuff apart with.

BradSmith is a registered supplier on here. He makes a nice mod box. Includes batteries and juice for $30 shipped.

You posted as I was typing...

Ah HA!!! Sounds like Button/circuit failure!!!! (often due to #4 above). Can be mechanical failure too, standing it on its end sounds like there may be some juice in there.

I 2nd hairballs 3.7 v box mod... I use 5v box mods... love em.

Anyway, how to save your battery... hmmm. Not sure. I've heard of people using compress air and blowing it in there somehow. I think I remember a post about alcohol too, but I don't suggest it for these. Heating a battery to dry it out is a real no-no. Sounds like you'd better replace it as fast as you can. It may dry out over time.

Do you have any working batteries?
