Hi All,I'm very new to vaping (just started a few weeks ago), and I have a 901t system that I purchased from http://uniquecigs.com and it's working pretty good. I'll probably keep the 901 for portability when I go out, but I would like to get a system that provides a more consistent vapor hit and longer battery life for normal use. I've read good things about the ego system, with the exception of some leaking issues, and I have a few questions...

I understand the tank system of the ego-t model (since I have a tank model currently), but how does the new ego-C model compare as far as ease of filling, cleaning, leaking, etc?

From what I've read, the ego models are based on the 510 model parts. Does this mean that you can use virtually all 510 mods on an ego model?

As far as kits go, would it be better long term for me to get a starter kit or just buy individual pieces and put something together? Suggestions?

Thanks in advance! :2cool:

Welcome to the forums!
I have the Ego-T PV and haven't had any leaking problems.
The Ego-C allows you to just change the Atty part instead of the whole upper assembly. I ordered the Ego-C parts to try out on my Ego batteries. One thing I really like about the Ego batteries, with the 501 threads, lotsa options open with it.
I'm sure more folks will be along with better info!
Good luck to you!

IMO, you see so many newer people recommending the eGo because it is the only one they have ever used so they have little to no comparative experience. There is nothing wrong with the eGo. I just think there are better alternatives in the same category and size PV's. Specifically the: E-Power 510, Kgo and Riva. All of these have better batteries than the eGo which has only a 3.4 volt, 650 mAh standard battery. These three all have 3.7 volt, 1000+ mAh batteries standard. Why pay the same for less? And in the case of the E-Power, the batteries cost about $4 instead of the $15+ you will pay for the eGo batteries. Here are some reputable suppliers:

I'm another newbie....spent a week reading all the stuff on this forum, and ordered the KGO kit referenced above. Was hoping to see it in the mail today, but alas.....I will be waiting until Monday. I'm sure I will be having lots of questions in the next few weeks....lol. My deciding point was all the good things people said about the batteries. I'm very thankful I found this forum and got good information....was all set to order V2 or Greensmoke until I started reading here.

Cool. That's consistent with some of the information I just found. The eGo-C seems to cost more up front, but with the cheaper atomizer assembly, it should save money in the long run.

Good information, thanks! I'm still deciding between a good starter kit and piecing something together. I'll need to get something soon because my 901t is made more for light use, and the more I use, the more I like it. :D

The eGo-C is alittle betterthan the eGo-T bc it's easier to clean, but thats not saying much bc they can still be very finicky at times and leak, just like the eGo T tanks. Plus they dull flavor and TH even when they are working right. If your going to get an eGo I'd just get a regular one and use cartos.

I would def consider going with an E-Power or kGo oer an eGo. Their both quality PVs that give a great vape and have very good battery life. The eGo isnt bad, but personally I think the E-Power and kGo are both def better than the eGo. The eGo is only 3.3-3.4V, while the E-Power and kGo are both 3.7V PVs. The 3.7V PVs provide alittle more "oomph", and more importantly they handle the lower resistnace attys and cartos a lot better.
I have an E-Power and love it. The main difference between the E-Power and kGo is that the E-Power uses non-proprietary batteries, which are removable. E-Power batteries cost $4-5 compared to eGo/kGo batteries that cost $14-20. The batteries are 1050mah so they last a long time and I get on avg a day to a day and a half on one battery. Also I find it much easier to carry a spare battery with the E-power. The batteries are small, about the size of a AA but alittle longer, so its easy to carry a spare in your pocket or bag, and if needed, uscrew the switch and pop in a fresh battery. With the eGo and kGo, to carry a spare battery you have no choice but to carry a second PV with you since the battery is inside of the unit. Also everything is replaceable on the E-Power so its cheaper to maintain.
The kGo is also a nice PV, even though it uses proprietary batteries. The batteries are 1100mah so they last a long time as well, and most people can get a full day out of one battery.

And if you do want to use a tank so you can refill less, a carto tank like this: View attachment 83669 would be a lot better than any of the eGo tanks

Thanks for all the information! After some consideration, I decided to go with the Joyetech eGo-C starter kit (stainless) with the LR atties. I added an additional 5 pack of LR atties to the order, so I should be all set for a while. The reason I went with the Joyetech was mainly due to the positive reviews I've read (albeit from new users like myself), and the eGo-C seems to have the features that I want in an easy to use tank system.

I'll post a review (from a newbie perspective) once my shipment arrives and I've had the chance to check it out.

And as for the other information that's been provided here, I'm sure I'll be putting together a custom PV in the future, so thanks again for the advice! :)

Just a quick update:

I received my eGo-C in the mail last Wednesday, and my 901t has been retired to the nightstand drawer. This thing produces a lot of vapor, and the flavor of my favorite e-liquids is coming through strong with the LR atties. The standard 650mAh battery is lasting me a good 8 to 10 hours (depending on what else I'm doing), and no leaking issues so far. The stainless steel finish is very sharp and I've had several people at work in the smoking area ask me about it and I always tell them they need to try vaping.

All in all, a great vaping experience so far for a new vaper such as myself. :vapor:

That is great news BuGlen. Now enjoy that and research your next upgrade. You know your gonna do it!

The problem is, you're probably exactly right! A lot of the money I save on analogs will probably go toward new hardware and trying new flavors. I could definitely see myself completely geeking out on this. :D

I have the EGO and I love it because it has the 510 threading and can be used with any 510 threaded device and no I am not new.

That was absolutely one of the most prevalent deciding factors for me. After researching for the better part of a day, I found that the 510 hardware had the most available mods.

I just ordered my 27yo son a Joye 510t so he can quit smoking too (he's a light smoker), and I'm hoping it works out well for him.

Really take a look at the eGo e-power 3.7V kit at Liberty Flights. It'll take all the 510 stuff too but, instead of a proprietary battery, it uses a generic 18650 battery. Those batteries don't last forever and generics are cheaper to replace. On top of that an 18650 will last longer between charges than any eGo, Kgo, Riva or any other clone.

All of the ones recommended (Kgo, E-Power, Riva) are all 510 threading. They just have better batteries than the ego. And in the case of the E-Power, at a much lower cost.
