My journey to vaping has only been for about 1 month. I smoked cigarettes since I was 15 = 43 years ago. I couldn't go more than an hour without getting the jitters/withdrawals. 3 years ago I started smoking a natural tobacco brand, American Spirit which are produced without the chemical processes used in most major brands. After several weeks smoking those I no longer experienced the morning buzz of my first smoke of the day. The jitters ended also. I could go 3-4 hours without feeling as if I was going to go crazy. There was still the effects of the burning tobacco and paper which created their own by-products.
I believe that smoking that brand was a stepping stone to being able to drop the analogs. I have not had the least desire to smoke another since discovering vaping.
All of this is to say to those who are struggling with the transition. If you feel you must go back, I would recommend a natural tobacco brand. Then work on transitioning to vaping. The effects of stopping smoking are going to be different with each person so your mileage may vary. You also have to want to quit smoking.
Just my encouragement to those who could use it.
