So how come it only says 174 comments now? Are they deleting some?

It's like the recent Surgeon Generals post your stop smoking stories, only APPROVED methods will be cited. Because ya know going apesh*t on your family with a coup de grace on yourself is much safer than vaping. Team ChantixF T W. (for the win) :p

Chantix was bad news for me.

Maybe there are 174 in the other message system? FB access shows over 1200. I forget the name of the other system you can be logged into to post.

Actually I checked that again, and I'm not sure it accepts disqus; think it might just be FB login.

She talked about some studies being funded by pro-vaping sources, but didn't mention that most of the anti-vaping studies are funded by tobacco and pharm companies. I wonder who funds her blog?

Do not even hope to find an intelligent author in Consumer Report.

Article could get a million pro vaping comments and it won't alter the writers view because they fall into one of two category's, 1 paid to do a hatchet job or 2 one of those anti smoking zealots that won't be happy till anything that is or appears like smoking is banished forever. It's quite depressing to see the reaction to vaping and much as I loathe those looking to torpedo it to safeguard profit at least there is rationality in that, the zealots those I cannot get my head round in anyway how a person gets so closed minded in this day and age where information is so easily accessible just defeats me.

When did consumer Reports get into politics anyway?

Check out the other articles Consumer Reports puts out about e-cigs and it's clear they do no accurate research at all. I am a bit confused as to who funds them, since they claim Big Tobacco and not small business profits from ecigs?:
http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2014/04/e-cigarette-poisonings-on-the-rise/index.htm
http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/...e-teens-to-smoke-regular-cigarettes/index.htm
http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/...ing-rich-from-electronic-cigarettes/index.htm

There's plenty more anti-vape articles they write, this is just the 3 most recent.

Another way people can take action and reach the FDA is to post with the hastag [HASHTAG]#vapingsavedmylife[/HASHTAG] on the FDA Facebook page with their "5.6 million children alive today in the US will die early from smoking unless we take steps to stop the ‪#‎tobacco‬ epidemic. Find out what we're doing to reduce the impact of tobacco use in America ‪#‎KickButtsDay‬ Learn more about our Public Education Campaigns here:http://go.usa.gov/3CdAT" message here: https://m.facebook.com/FDA/photos/a...94399502298/10153126369597299/?type=1&theater

All who have quit smoking due to vaping might want to put a little comment at the following link.
Let your voice be heard and provide the proof that vaping DOES help people stop smoking. Might do nothing in the long run but could not hurt and will only take a couple of minutes.

Thanks.

I saw it on another forum but not here, maybe OP you can add it to your Call To Action?

So I just noticed the article was updated today. I only read it today so does anyone know what was changed?
It may be my imagination but it may be the addition of the dismissal of the PHE's study. Can anyone else verify?

It's pretty crappy of her to change the content after comments have been made.

They are`nt approving vaping yet because they are still trying to work out the maximum tax extraction from it. Once they got that figured out, it`ll be on the list of approved methods.

Not sure; that might have already been there.

What would make sense would be a total re-write from the opposite position, given all the comments, but I'm sure her attitude is much like a child with fingers in ears, going "LALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

Exactly like a child who doesn't care about truth, just what THEY want.

I was fed up with smoking before I vaped and asked for it. The doctor basically told me your too crazy for Chantix, splains a few things. :p

That's something I would NEVER have tried; I can feel suicidal all by myself, thanks. :D

I think it was the addition of the POHE study results. Not certain though. Crappy, but our comments may have had an impact for her to tone the study as more uncertain as to vaping not having an effect on smoking cessation?

That's what I thought it might have been... I read a comment saying that there was no reference to the PHE report but there was. I was confused until I saw the edit date.

But even if she mentions it, she makes SURE to mention that it "has been criticized", and pointing out those "ties to e-cigarette makers." And what about all those other studies that say what she does, with ties to BIG PHARMA??? I guess those "ties" don't count, eh? What utter rubbish.
