A couple HG2 questions

Hi this is a 2 part question:

1. My father purchased me 4 LG HG2 18650 batteries at a reputable B&M last Friday (almost a week ago), I'm waiting for my Kbox 120 W to show up from a Chinese site, it should be here tomorrow or Monday (I'm hoping) How can long can the new unused HG2's sit? The B&M owner told me they are sold fully charged, which was weird to me cause I know new batteries usually show up as 3.7 volts roughly

2. I plan on storing my 5 18650s I use with my ipv D2 at least unit June/July... I was told different info, that they should be stored at 3.7 volts (roughly) but I was also told they should be fully charged when storing (4.2) volts?


P.S Yes I did my research on proper battery marrying (for when the mod shows up)

Can't deny that the "stored till July" sounds strange, but then... someone this week was asking about storing a two year supply. So... okey doke.

I've also heard the 3.7ish for storage and I trust the knowledgeable source(s).

And no worries on the HGs... they might drop a few hundredths before the KBox arrives (if that) but it won't hurt them to sit charged for a couple weeks.

Yeah. I guess the annoying part will be getting them all down to 3.7. I want to store them till July cause the goal is to use the Kbox 120 with the new LG HG2s. And maybe occasionally using the single battery IPV D2. July because they 3 were bought in November and 2 more in January. I figure by the summer they will be degraded enough from sitting it will be time to toss them.

I don't know, maybe. Depends on usage of course.
I've got several pairs and a handful of singles running every day (in rotation) since September and I'm just waiting to see some appreciable degradation.

Unless you high amps abuse them... they're pretty damn durable.
Several hundred cycles at least.

Yes but they will most likely sit starting next week... I know them sitting there severely degrades the longevity

The HGs? I was agreeing that 3.7v is the way to go for storage.
Use each to around there then pop 'em back in their boxes.
They last a year and longer on vendor shelves like that.
Just charge 'em up then and have at it, they'll be fine.

Or buy more mods in the meantime to use them in.

the new 4 HG2s were bought friday.
my 5 18650s are 3 HG2s (I've used since November) and 2 LG HE4s (the yellow ones, get them confused with HE2, bought in January)
Once my dual battery mod shows up I will no longer have much use for the Singles (the 5 of them)...

Basically I need to know what voltage the 5 singles need to be stored at, and I also want to know how long the new ones can lay dormant (from the shop) in case my new dual battery mod takes longer than expected.

Why do you want to store away one working mod just because you've bought another?
Only one tank? There's a solution for that too.

No, you don't need to assume things. I'm not tending to multiple setups, I like to keep one setup going at all times.

Store your five cells at 3.7V to 3.8V at 20°C or below for long-term storage. The new ones can also be discharged 3.7V to 3.8V until you receive your mod. For the few days you will be waiting for your box, it really does not matter all that much.
