Anyone know a couple of sites that would sell it with pre oxidized wicks? I'm a little nervous about oxidizing it myself, plus the fact I don't have a torch doesn't help at all. On that note anyone know what torch would be best at a reasonable price? Granted oxidizing wicks is the only thing I'd be using it for. In a blind test can you tell the difference between the vape between the OG DID and the clones?

For my observation I've noticed something funny. I remember when the Vmax came out and a group of us, myself included at the time were upset how it was an obvious copy of the provari. There were a lot of heated debates I'm sure a few of you have seen. Now here comes a wave of DID clones and I haven't seen any negativity what so ever. It just seems odd. I figured there would be a few people out there upset about it. I'm just glad I can try a genisis style atty without dropping 100+ ha.

Oxidizing a wick is one of the easier operations in prepping your atomizer, I recommed you try it. Its not like you're going to destroy the mesh. I either use a lighter or the gas stove burner, both get the wick cherry red hot. Some folks quench the wick in baking soda solution, I drip VG on mine and let it burn off. I find its good to do the same with the coil, get nice carbon coating on it.

You're right in that everyone has been more than excited to purchase and share tuning tips about the DID clones. I think its availability is a contributing factor. They are also pretty well made so you really can't knock them. You still need a powerful apv to drive them. We're all in the same club, not smoking, that should be satisfaction enough for everyone. No need to bicker over who has what.

FWIW, even with a well made coil and ss wick, I can't seem to get a good vape out of it. Its not stopping me though.

Roto, I really appreciate the info. I'm really excited to try a genisis for the first time. I've rebuilt the phoenix and vivi nova of course. This will be the next step. To be honest this all came about due to bogegate. Trying to find alternatives, I'm so glad I did. Vaping has turned out to be a great hobby.

Hi

I guess the tips rotohammer gave you will work and you can get a cheap torch for $20 or a small wind proof lighter that those the job as good .. Remember to oxy well always ...

You can go to DISCOUNT VAPOURS and ask Eric Gormly " owner" I'm sure he will fix an oxy-wick for you and he will have clear tanks next week aswell ... There a thread " search GRIFFIN" and you'll find him there ... Nice guy.

About clone issues .. Well I think is not nice to copy exect something but there it is and now the genesis type attys. are affordable ..as they should be!! I have no complains on the matter .. But if someone has I can understand..

Keep on vaping

China is coming out with clear tanks for these "ChiDs". Suthrnbuckhunter just filled up another co-op with these plus the new clear tanks.

Ibetanked.com has pyrex tubes that may fit some of the clones. One person who got one of these tanks said they broke it trying to get it on

Keep an eye on the http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/coop-planning-discussion/ forum for future co-ops, you can get one of the ChiDs shipped to you for ~$15 in a co-op.

Broke it trying to get it on? Sheesh, I would really like to see that happen myself. Granted, most Pyrex suppliers suggest not 'tilting' these things when installing, but these IBTanked units are pretty thick walled.
