And here I was anxious over oxidizing the mesh! That's the easy part! I got the Vulcan from surevapes a couple days ago. It's a DID clone/Genesis style atty tank.. got it and the clear tube for $20 shipped.

I've watch numerous videos on oxidizing, rolling, wrapping and so forth. I can't seem to get this piece of mesh rolled down tight enough to fit into the hole! My kit came with 2 pieces of 400 mesh. They look to be the same size that I'm seeing people use for their wicks. Maybe my mesh is too large? It measures 5cm x 3 1/4 cm (2 inches x 1 3/4 inches) could it be too large of a piece? For some reason I can't seem to get mine to roll tight. I haven't seen anyone else have this particular problem.. and I haven't even begun building my coil yet LOL

Also, something I haven't seen others use for oxidizing the mesh... a "wind proof" lighter. It's one of those large lighters that performs like a torch. I wasn't too keen on paying $20+ for a butane torch and I already had this.. got it at walmart for around $4-5 It works great.

Just keep rolling it tightly in between your fingers. Its similar to rolling a cigarette I found, with the grand exception that the mesh doesn't go back to it's old shape like paper will (generally getting tobacco all over).

I just kept pressure on it and rolled it, starting in the middle and working outwards with both hands. I managed to get mine into the slit on a VVN head.

Can't remember the dimensions I used, but it fits perfectly in a VVN

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is that you have to roll the SS in ONE direction- if you just roll it back and fourth in your fingers, after awhile it will unravel one way, then wrap back up the other, over and over. You have to figure out which way tightens the wrap up, and keep rolling in that direction with constant pressure. ;)

I got the coil done and it's working.. but it's giving a really burnt taste. I guess the wick is too tight in the hole and it's not feeding. But at least it's firing :D I knew going into this that it would take some time and practice. It took me awhile to master carto tanks and then awhile to master rewicking the VN. I'm sure it'll take me some time for this also. But man... when I read all the threads about people trying to get these to work and all the problems.. so many variables that can go wrong! So many posts saying "this is the most important thing to do" and "that is the most important thing to do" It's overwhelming! But it's fun playing with it and learning I guess. I'm just glad I've got stuff that works (and I'm happy with) to vape while I tinker with this LOL

Thanks for all the advice. I'm going to start fresh and see if I can get it to give me that orgasmic vape :D

Success! After I finally got the wick rolled tight enough, I watched Pbusardo's video of the ZAP and it's works pretty good. :D

Nice flavor! The one on the right is the Vivi Nova, rewicked with a piece of cotton ball. The Vulcan seems to be already giving a more intense flavor than the VN but the advantage of the VN rewicked with a cotton ball is that it wicks without having to vape it tilted upwards. I love them both!
