Hi... :p

Don't get me wrong, I love my GS. I just wish they made a PCC. Failing that, I thought I'd take a stab at building one myself.

Haven't actually built it yet, but I think I'm on the right track...

USB LiPoly 3.7V Charger
3.7V 1000mAh LiPoly Battery
Mintyboost
the original GS USB Charger
and a case to throw it all into, preferably a flip-top

With the Mintyboost running off a 3.7V battery, it'll step that up to 5V, where the GS USB charger draws 200mA (according to the sticker). The GS long battery is only rated for 270mAh, so a 1000mAh battery should be able to charge roughly 3 long batteries before needing to be recharged itself.

All I would need to do is buy the stuff and wire it all together, providing I can find a case I'm happy with. Ideally, I'd like it to store one battery and charge another, and have room for 3 or 4 cartomizers. Doesn't look like it should cost too much to make.

My only problem now is finding a case I can work with. The long battery is 8.2cm in length, and the screw terminal and PCB on the USB charger is another 3.4cm long, would a 120mm cigarette case be long enough?

Thanks for reading my ramblings. :p

I had thought about using one of those emergency phone chargers, but the ones I've seen online don't seem to output very much (I've seen some large capacity ones, but the batteries are huge). A LiPo battery and the Mintyboost is pretty much the same thing, and is probably more efficient. Although, the ideal solution would be to build the entire circuit instead of cobbling together a bunch of pre-made stuff... but I'm not an EE, and I don't work for GS. ;)

After I finish the mod in-progress, I intend to build a 4400mah solar/DC chargable battery pack for emergency charging anything that uses USB. My mods have micro-USB chargers built-in, as well as my Android. It's going to berather large, but it will serve multiple uses, including charging removable 18650s (X2). Mintyboost is included in the plethora of gizmos I intend to include.

I'd say your intentions are do-able.

Cool. I'll have to keep an eye out for that one.

I think I ran into a snag. Can't seem to find any 120mm flip top cases. I thought I saw one the other day, but my memory eludes me.

Failing that, I guess I could build the pack myself with something like acrylic or possibly even shielded aluminum. I'll have to find someone who's good with that kind of stuff, because I haven't worked with metal or plastic since middle school.
