Hi there everyone, just received my hcigar brass King mod a few days ago and really loving it!
This is my first mechanical mod and it's a joy, already developing a nice little patina and hits HARD.

A few issues I'm having though: The bottom pin in the switch assembly likes to come loose sometimes when unthreaded it from the tube and my lock ring sometimes gets stuck in the unlocked position, forcing me to unthread the entire switch and unseize it by hand.

If any Chi or King users could chime in as to how to fix that'd be great! Also any tips for cleaning would be awesome as well. I gave it a nice warm water & dish soap cleaning out of the box and used some toothpaste/toothbrush on the threads as per suggestion from another thread.

Why toothpaste? I'm guessing it's a sort of polishing method, but you can buy a tin of Mothers for about 5 bucks.

Anyway, make sure the threads are clean (soapy water and a toothbrush - skip the toothpaste) and clean them regularly. Tighten the bottom pin pretty well and it shouldn't come loose.

As for the seizing, the only cure is to be gentle when locking/unlocking. You could use some Noalox or Vaseline, but it'll get gummed up insanely fast on the locking ring. That choice is yours. :)

Thanks Richard will definitely do this, actually just picked up some Mothers and Never Dull to give a whirl.
One last question, I pulled my battery out and there was some black dusty gunk on it, any idea what that is? Felt like graphite almost and rubbed right off.
Don't think its my batteries. Using some 28650 Sony VTC3s

On my chi you clone I had the same problem with the locking ring getting stuck. It also loosened way to easy in my pocket so I put some Teflon tape on it in an attempt to keep it from unlocking in my pocket. Well it didn't work for that as it all bunched up at the top of the threads, but that now stops the locking ring from getting to the point where it is stuck. So I guess it worked out a little and might be worth a shot.
