1. Are the popping sounds when vaping/pressing the button normal?

2. What is the best way to clean out my tanks? I tried just soaking them in hot water for 30 minutes (twice on the same tank) and still got a bit of the last flavor to bleed through.

3. What's a good site to order other e-liquids from? I like Halo's plenty (it's my first non-disposable e-cig/PV) and I'm addicted to the Kringle's Curse, but I'd like to branch out.

4. What's the best way to dry my tanks after I wash them?

5. Are there any tanks I can buy that are compatible with the Halo Triton that are wickless? I'm not sure entirely what styles of tanks there are, but I don't think I'm a fan of the wick/top-burner system.

Thanks for your help guys, you've made the swap to e-cigs/PVs a great one.

I have a Triton set up for out and about, I'll answer the best I can....

1. Are the popping sounds when vaping/pressing the button normal? Yes, this is normal as long as it isn't leaking. This (leaking) only happened to me once when I didn't make sure the coil was tight after a refill. It's just the sound of the liquid vaporizing/heating on the coil.

2. What is the best way to clean out my tanks? I tried just soaking them in hot water for 30 minutes (twice on the same tank) and still got a bit of the last flavor to bleed through. See No. 4

3. What's a good site to order other e-liquids from? I like Halo's plenty (it's my first non-disposable e-cig/PV) and I'm addicted to the Kringle's Curse, but I'd like to branch out. This will vary person to person. If you look in the e-liquid section you will see many recommendations. Sometimes you will have to try several vendors prior to finding "the one".

4. What's the best way to dry my tanks after I wash them? I rinse the tanks and coils out with hot water, hot enough to where I can barely take it. Let the coils air dry for about 24 hours, you can dry the tanks, especially the threading area with a paper towel, I will give the tanks a snap shake to remove water from inside.

5. Are there any tanks I can buy that are compatible with the Halo Triton that are wickless? I'm not sure entirely what styles of tanks there are, but I don't think I'm a fan of the wick/top-burner system. Wickless for the Triton, I've never seen them but these have a proprietary threading so there is limited compatibility.

Drawing into the lungs...some people will just draw into their mouth and exhale, others will do a full (or partial) lung inhale.
One more thing... Buy your replacement coils from another vendor, just look for Kanger T2 replacement coils (they are the same thing, only the post on the bottom of the tank is shorter on the Triton tank, that's the only difference). You can get them for $1 each, Halo charges around $2.50 the last time I checked. Good luck.

When I draw too little air, or when I hit the button and don't inhale at all, I can hear crackling sounds on my Triton. Some coils seem to do this more than others. The nature of these devices is such that tiny, nearly imperceptible variations in the way it's assembled can produce big differences in the operation. Have you tried a different coil keeping everything else the same?

2. What is the best way to clean out my tanks? I tried just soaking them in hot water for 30 minutes (twice on the same tank) and still got a bit of the last flavor to bleed through.

Remove the coil. Rinse the wick thoroughly. Pull the wicks to each side just 1/2" under warm running water. Do not pull the wicks out of the coil, unless you've got some teflon tape on hand and you're prepared for some delicate work.

3. What's a good site to order other e-liquids from? I like Halo's plenty (it's my first non-disposable e-cig/PV) and I'm addicted to the Kringle's Curse, but I'd like to branch out.

I'd strongly suggest that you find a brick and mortar (B&M) shop with a tasting bar. Ordering online is hit and miss - everyone's tastes are different. That said, Best E Cigarette | Buy Electronic Cigarettes | E Cig Juice - MT Baker Vapor seems to be a favorite around these parts.

4. What's the best way to dry my tanks after I wash them?

Shake em out. Then roll a paper towel into a sharp point, to dry any drops inbetween the post and tank wall.

5. Are there any tanks I can buy that are compatible with the Halo Triton that are wickless? I'm not sure entirely what styles of tanks there are, but I don't think I'm a fan of the wick/top-burner system.

Get an adapter and then you can use virtually any clearomizer or even a pyrex glassomizer.

1. Occasional pops are not uncommon. Unless it's popping hard and a lot, I don't worry about it. It might just happen on a bat right off the charger? 5 to 10 vapes and things should calm down.

2. A good rinsing is key. Take it all apart, coil out, condom off, the little top of the coil head and the top wick. Be careful, that little top piece is very easy to lose down the drain!!! Rinse well. If I'm going from a strong flavor to something more delicate, I'll soak in cheap vodka.

3. Look around the forum. This topic has many, many, many threads. Do your due diligence. Personally, I'll only buy USA manufactured juice from vendors that get good reviews in this forum.

4. I always have distilled water. Make your final rinse in the distilled. Since it has so few impurities, it does dry a bit faster, but doesn't leave behind all the salts and minerals in tap water. I'll guess PGA or vodka is similar. Tap out what you can, place on paper towel and wait.

5. A Triton tank gives many an excellent vape. It is enhanced with a Variable Volt battery. I can't speak to other systems, haven't tried them.

Also, one more question. I see quite a few people recommending drawing into the mouth, and either exhaling or drawing into the lungs from there instead of directly drawing into the lungs. Is there anything wrong with drawing into my lungs?

For many, a vape lung hit is very harsh when they first start out. They try to mimic how they used to smoke a cig.

Most of the vape nicotine is absorbed from the mouth and nose/sinus. As opposed to the smoke nicotine, mainly from the lungs. If you just do lung hits, you might not be absorbing as much nicotine.

I love the taste and "feel" of the vapor, so I savor it. Mouth, then lung, then mouth/nose exhale. And I get my nic. I think the taste perception changes depending on if I draw it into the lungs. Sometimes better, sometimes worse.

But if you like lung hits, and aren't coughing and can tolerate it, then vape on. There's really no wrong way.

The wrong way is to lung hit a cigarette. That is dangerous!!!

The Triton tanks are re-branded T2's with 808 threading. It isn't proprietary, simply less common than 510 threading.

Smokeless Image has a number of atomizers which will fit, including the T3 and a BCC. You can also check out the eSmart clearomizers and the V2 LiquiMax (T4's). I think Bloog may have an option not found at the other named vendors as well.

Have fun.

Ok, I'm confused...thought I also answered some questions but it disappeared. OP, did you double post this question or am I losing my mind?

You may have replied in another post. I have done that quite a few times with many windows open... OOps..:matrix:

Kesrak did a no-no! He double posted the exact same thread in 2 different sections.

Kesrak, bad Kesrak.

Read and obey the ecf Forum rules, my friend.

Triton batteries are 808/ego threaded while a standard ego is 510/ego threaded. There are only a few places to get things that are compatible with the Triton.

First, the Triton tank is very similar to a Kanger T2. A Triton tank will not fit a standard 510/ego battery, but any standard Kanger T2 will work on the Triton battery. All Kanger T2 replacement heads are interchangeable.

Smokeless Image uses the same 808/ego threading, and they have many new bottom coil stuff that would work.

Other clearos that work (be sure to look for 808 threading) are a Kanger T4 and a Kanger eSmart...these are smaller top coil types. The T4 is the same as a Halo mini tank.

You can get adapters like an "808 to 510" adapter or a "808 to ego" adapter, depending on what you are trying to attach. (the "808 to ego" adapter is hard to find in stock.)

Thanks for your help guys, you've made the swap to e-cigs/PVs a great one.

from using a halo triton for 6months, i can answer a few questions with my knowledge

1. yes its normal, when you notice the popping stop - the coil is dirty and needs cleaning or needs swaping

2.if im not at home, i typicaly just remove the head, and slightly pull the wicks over, rinse with hot water and use my fingers to rub the gunk off the wicks, move the wicks back and then dry with a paper towel. BUT if im home, id normaly rinse them in warm water then throw them into an ultrasonic cleaner for 20 mins.

3. i DIY and make my own juice, but i have noticed that Halo juices are STRONG! and they most difinatly "stain" the tank with that flavor, i try to stay away from halo juices(altho they are VERY VERY TASTY)

4. i dont really dry the insides of the tank after cleaning, i just shake out what i can. but i DO make sure the connections are dry and dry accordingly with tissue or papertowel.

5. the only reason why i upgraded from halo was because of the threads, so i cannot say what does fit since i couldnt personaly find anything.
