Hello everyone,

Some background info: I've never smoked a cigarette or vaped an e-cigarette in my life. But, my girlfriend used to smoke almost a pack a day up until the day I bought her an eGo a couple of weeks ago, after doing a lot of research on this terrific forum. And maybe it's a bit TMI, but it's soooo much more enjoyable for me now when hugging or kissing her, and even just being generally around her. She's not a DIY-er at all, so I've been in charge of buying juice and equipment, cleaning out the attys, keeping up with the cartridges, etc.

Question 1: I inhale a pretty fair bit of 2nd hand vapor when I'm around her when she vapes, and occasionally I'll accidently drop some juice on my thumb when I'm filling a cart or get some on my tongue when I'm blowing out an atty. I've read that nicotine absorbs readily into the skin. Am I getting an appreciable amount of nicotine in my system, enough to affect me in any way? Should I be more careful about coming in contact with vapor or the juice?

Question 2: She really doesn't want to try any non-fruity e-juice. The best way she could explain this to me was that most people wouldn't really want to chew snickerdoodle or peanut butter gum. Obviously it's a matter of personal taste, but does anyone have experience with a good introduction to more unusual flavors, or is it hopeless for me to even try to broaden her horizons? Also, some recommendations for some really good fruit e-juices that a supplier has would be helpful.

Question 3: As I've read these forums more and more, I've personally been increasingly curious just what the fuss is all about. A lot of the e-juices smell so freakin' good, and it makes me want to try vaping it even just once! I suppose I could just get a 0-nic doubler, but it's hard to justify that when we already have almost 150 mL of 24 mg juice that should last quite awhile. Not really a question here, but I'm just wondering if anyone's been in this boat and has any insight.

Sorry for the wordy post, thanks for reading!

Even I dont "blow out" my addys by mouth ... I suggest a compressor or a can of CO2 to do that duty. This stuff is not pleasant in raw form lol. I would try to minimize your contact with it but I would not fear for your health unless you are drinking it in your Ice tea or coating your self with it..

As far as flavors I can't suggest any fruity flavors as of yet I'm new to this game but love vanilla latte by Madvapes to the point I have next to overdosed my self with sessions in vaping for the taste and not the Nic.. Its all about her taste buds. But yet it sounds like you are looking for a excuse to try something. I do know if you have never smoked dont vape her 24mg... It will knock your lights out! Im a 2 PAD full flavor high nic smoker and 24 is strong to me.

First, welcome to ECF! My husband is a non-never has-smoker and he bought me my first kit. He knew how much I wanted to quit and I consider that gift one of his best, most thoughtful ever. You done good.

I try to limit how much I get on my skin, but it's not tragic to get a bit on yourself. Especially if it's just 24 mg or the like. I'd be much more concerned with the 100 mg stuff. That can be toxic and special care must be taken to handle it. I blow my attys out with my mouth all the time, really, I don't get much on my hands.

I don't think the vapor has much nicotine left in it, but that hasn't been studied. If you're not noticing any effects, than I wouldn't worry. You can feel the effects of nicotine pretty quickly, it's like drinking a cup of coffee. Also, you ingest nicotine often in the foods you eat. I know tomatoes have nicotine as well as other vegetables.

I cannot recommend you take up vaping yourself, even if it's 0 mg. The best way to treat our lungs is to not inhale anything into them. Those of us that vape, generally, are former smokers that are trying a less harmful way of getting a substance we are addicted to. I would much prefer to not be addicted and not vaping. Since I am addicted, I'm feeding that addiction with a way that actually works to keep me off of cigarettes. That said, I understand wanting to taste her flavors, they do smell good.

Now, on to juices....

I would order an assortment of samples, get mostly fruits since that is her preference, and maybe one or two bakery/dessert flavors. I would look at Ms T's or FreedomSmokeUSA. They both have lots of good flavors and do samples.

One last thing...tell your girlfriend how good she smells. Don't say it in relation to how she used to smell, just how good she smells right now. Women like to know these things. :D

Speaking for myself, I think you should give her a chance to grow into the other flavors. I can't say I've quit smoking because I'm still smoking two a day from my prior two packs/day. But the interest in exploring the other flavors comes with time. At first she may not want to stray too far from what's closest to the tobacco. Then the chocolates, coffees, and vanillas will work their way in, and then the others may (or may not) follow. It was over a week before I was even curious enough to try something else (Liquid Xpress's Carnilla Cappachino). But I'm still not the point where some of the more adventurous flavors sound vape-y; tasty, yes, but I'm not feeling compelled to vape them yet. Give her more of a chance to ease into the concept of vaping for pleasure rather than getting the nicotine fix.

A little insight for ya:

Answer 1
Yes, nicotine can absorb through your skin as can anything. Obviously the quantities would be small, but still possible. I use cartomizers now, but used to clean my atties by soaking them in pure grain alcohol overnight, blowing them out with steam from my capuccino maker, then blowing them out with canned air. You would make an adapter out of the silicone cart covers to blow them out.

Answer 2
When I first started vaping, next to marlboro, Cola was my go-to. Electro Juice makes a decent Cola.

Answer 3
As for vaping no nic, it's your call. Personally, I wouldn't do it if I were a non smoker/vaper. As for justifying it, you can always try selling/trading some of your old liquids in the classifieds section on this site. Also, most liquid if kept in the fridge should last longer than in the cupboard.

To start with welcome to ECF friend. And as to your questions...

1) I think Mr.jcP covered that one most excellently! lo

2) I cannot recommend enough the "hypnotic Mist" from freedomsmokeusa.com . It's a fantastic combo of citrus and tobacco that may very well open up both her palette and mind to other flavor options.

3) no, just flat out no
