My GF is recently trying to stop smoking so I purchased her a Mistic starter pack. She had a hard time with it until I purchased some blank, low resistance cartos and filled them with a PG/VG liquid. Now she is enjoying them much more. I just ordered her a new mini ego (in pink) and am thinking about ordering myself an ego T. I only smoke on occasion and nearly always a cigar. More for the flavor than anything so I will be looking for some cigar e-liquid in 0 or very low nicotine levels.

A couple of questions:

1) She felt she wasn't getting enough nic. from the stock Mistic 1.8% cartos and she was really having a hard time with the throat hit. The PG/VG blend (18%) has less of a TH and a better nic. feel. She smokes about a pack a day menthol lights. Should I order her some higher strength e-liq?

2) Is an ego-T a good start for a infrequent cigar smoker?

3) Are there any good cigar e-liquids in low or no nicotine levels?

Thanks a ton guys. This site is information overload!

Most smokers need 2.4% (24 mg/10ml) to start. Some need higher. You have the most control over TH with a variable voltage device such as the eGo Twist ($32) or the new kGo VV ($25) -- you could always just get ONE of these and keep the minicigs as backup.

But I don't remember if the Mistic is 808 or 510. I have not seen an inexensive 808 variable voltage yet.

v v (Variable Voltage) of some kind is a good start for anybody who does not insist on a mini AKA cigarette lookalike.

I think Heathers Heavenly Vapes would be good for cigar smokers but I've also seen cigar eliquids, dunno where. Heathers lets you choose PG/VG and I thought also nic levels. The ones with a "pipe" or "cigar" note are Gandalf, Huntsman, Pirate's Booty, Dragon's Fire, and Dark Horse, with Gandalf the most popular.

I'll bump her to 24mg. The Mistic is an 808 thread. Wanting to switch over to 501 style.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I should look at an ego twist for vv?

Yeah. I got mine at gotvapes.com
AND look at the new kGo vv on Hoosierecig.com (NOT Hoosiervapes!)

I have a Twist in-hand and a kGo vv on order.

See if she likes the eGo you ordered 1st. If so, next could be a vv.

Variety of nic and flavor options is best...like 18 and 24.

You can order 0 nic cigar juice. Also low nic. If that's still too high...order both nick levels of a flavor you like and mix em to get even lower nic. IDK if you are "sort of" and "mostly" addicted to nic. If you can avoid it, that's best IMO unless you feel you have need of it.

Hi and welcome to ECF. Seeing as you're an infrequent smoker I'd recommend the Kgo variable volt- can vape from 3,3 to 6 volts.
Reasons are:
"Tobacco" flavors are far more tasty at higher voltage
Kgo VV has an LED readout which tells to the amount of battery time left before needing recharge
It's 650 mah- 100 mah= 1 hour normal vaping before needing recharge
I've had mine for about a week and although I didn't initially like the button I've since gotten used to it and is no big deal. Here's a review by a highly regarded ECF member:

Good Luck

I tried my roommate's and the button is easy to find when sitting in an easy chair, but would be a pain while driving. But I have a solution: a blaster drip tip that bends 45 degrees, situate it pointed toward or away from the button and ba-da-boom, easy to orient. Also she pointed out that you can feel the lcd window on your palm or thumb subconsciosly so should be easy to get used to.

But I wondered...how is the vape time compared to the Twist? I have a 900mah Twist that seems to need charging more than a 650 Volt X2?

Thanks. Yes I have an idea to make the button more "findable" but haven't done it yet. I'm vaping at 4.5 volts and getting over 5 hours and the vape has been very consistent and reliable. I don't own a Twist but was loaned one by a friend and the Kgo VV is far superior IMO. I never buy first gen of anything but have been very impressed with the regular Kgo so I thought I'd take a chance. If this one holds up I'll prolly buy another. I've noticed other vendors are now stocking it also.

Update:

We received the mini several days ago. FIlling the clearomizer was a challange as it required the use of a needle. THe bottle of e-liquid that she had on hand wasn't equipped with one but Ihad some dispensing needles that I brought from work. She seemend to be getting a little better vapor production from the mini but just wasn't getting the nic that she needed. We found a vendor in OKC that let her sample a bunch of different liquids and strengths. She finally settled on 36mg to get what she needed. The guy running the store warned us to be cautious of any symptoms of nicotine poisioning because he considered 36mg to be very high strength.

We picked up a 650mah battery and a few CE4 clearomizers along with the e-liq. We filled one up and she took it with us to the state fair where we spent the day without any analogs. Doing much better with the stronger liquid. I also think that the 650 battery probably hold voltage a bit better than the little mini battery because it seems to produce more vapor.

I was very happy with the shop that helped us pick the liquid. As soon as I have enough posts, I'll write a positive review of them.

I'm off on a trip to Denver in about a week where I'll likely visit a shop that I found online and perhaps pick up a tank and a twist for myself. I picked up 10ml of french pipe on 0mg for myself.
