Yes, you turn the button and it locks. Not very visible in the photos is the fact that within the "fishmouth" (the button cutout in the body) is a little ledge on one side which would catch the brass nubby and prevent firing.
It, uh, doesn't work too swift. :) The button has a tendency to turn during use and lock itself, or unlock itself when you don't want it. But it is the obvious predecessor to the lock we have today after David processed the concept fully.

If you head back in time it appears it was announced in typical Super-T fashion on July 23rd 2009.

Reading those old threads it appears some things never change. Super-Ts take awhile, you have to wait and they were pricey. The reason for this was the same - perfectionism. People got all hot and bothered then just like they do now, but when they got it everything was all better.
Mr-Glass happened to have found the PayPal (ha!) invoices for his unit after all this time:

7/29/09 $110.00 for (Super T1 Body for 510 or 901 (choose atomizer adapter type): With 510 atomizer adapter)
7/31/09 $30.00 for 6 volt extension sleeve for use with two CR2 3 volt batteries.
8/12/09 $40.00 for Extra Adapters. Choose Style:: 801 w/adj. draw

And bizarrely enough when I made my offer which he accepted, I nailed $180 right on the nose without even looking at this information!

$180!

T1 + acessories =$180.00, made of Aluminnum with no Rhodium plated contacts.... SuperT's prices have actually gone down in comparision once you consider what you get for the money....Look at the ELA--Stainless Steel-Rhodium plated contacts-2 top caps-and a set of accent rings all for $189.99.... Such a deal:)

Ah, the old T1! I think i made maybe 50 of those total! Hand turned on a manual lathe one piece at a time :) Lookin' good Snork!
Lookin' good courtesy Mr-Glass! I've been hunting one for awhile, all but given up let alone finding one with the extension and two caps. Tomorrow some 3.5 ohm 801s will be arriving, don't have any 3 volt batteries so it looks like I'll be doing 8.4 on 'em (just to see what that's like) ;)

I cant wiat to hear "what thats like"...8.4 x 8.4 / 3.5 = 20.16 watts...

:) I'll think about it, especially considering I just discovered your average AW IMR 16340s don't fit in the extended tube! The tolerances of that fantastic extension are too close, you have threading on the interior as well as exterior and there's no wiggle room AT ALL. Obviously this was designed for 3v CR123 batteries, of which I know practically nothing. I'm going to do a little research, I don't even know if any "modern" (like 4 years ago was the stone age) batteries fit!

I used to have some LiFePO4s, I wish I still had them around.

So since this is my thread I'll just keep blithering on...
Tonight I'm foregoing the 6volt option and vaping 3.7 with my honking ikenvape standard LR 801. Man, the adjustable draw is a trip! I'll have to make a video of it. In the pictures you can see a hole in the side of the adapter. This hole leads up through the center post to the atomizer post. Air travels from the side of the adapter to the bottom of the 801 (801's air intake is through the bottom). Threaded through vertically in the adapter is a little allen head screw which, when screwed down, progressively covers the air intake hole in the side of the adapter. That's what all that business is. It works like a charm. Opened all the way up it's a super airy draw and can whistle. Cranked all the way down it's tight. Less vapor too. I haven't been able to cut it off completely though...I don't want to strip anything!
I've always liked to vape 801s though they're a finicky beast. Take a ton of juice, and you'll be vaping along super clouds and flavor and suddenly they decide they're too dry (which under other atty circumstances means flooded) and you get the most awful hit...time to put another 6 drops in and hope for the best...this is so much fun!

Oh, go ahead and blither, Snork.:) I'm lovin' this. The T-1 (I had the proto) was my go-to device for almost a year until the aluminum threads stripped. David retrieved it (ostensibly to fix it) never to be seen by me again. The adjustable air/draw, for me at least, was a set it and forget it thing. Loved it so much, I bugged him for three+ years to bring AD back.

Ah, memories. Thanks to you and Mr-Glass, I have David searching for my T-1 once again. It's probably sitting in some forgotten bin somewhere. Keep looking, David!

I sort of have a knack for getting your son in trouble. It's easy to see why it was a favorite, works great, looks great, lightweight, and it was specifically made for you!
The threads worry me. You have to crank the atomizer down pretty good to seal against the o-ring. I'll bet if I found a little thicker one or spongier one it might not be as scary.

I assume the o-ring in question is your typical black buna-n? Maybe a soft silicone one would be better, "spongier" as it were

Yeah, I think I'll hit the hardware store this weekend and see what I can come up with. As far as your battery offer goes, let's just keep it in mind. I have an el cheapo set coming in (might even be the ones you have) with an order of juice. If they don't fit we'll talk. For sure I'm not going to make a 6 volt T1 a lifestyle so it's barely worth troubling anybody with. :)
