Wow, wow, and wow again!! I love this forum, so first a big giant thank you to ECF creators and contributors, mods and members. You people rawk! I have barely begun to delve into the wealth of great info and resources here and I'm blown away. I seriously don't remember the last time I joined a forum so full of friendly folks.

My story, in short:

I first tried vaping about 2 years ago. After first purchasing a cheapo e-cig made in china that I subsequently couldn't get cartos for (couldn't even find a model number on it! LOL), I bought a KR808 starter kit. I liked it a lot, but the company I bought it from first had chemist issues, then was always out of my then preferred flavor juice (clove) and I never fully made the transition from analogs. After a few sporadic searches for suppliers and juice I became so discouraged by all the scam vendors, misinformation and model info around the web, I gave up and sadly kept on with my burning analogs.

Last month when I purchased my tobacco (a month or so supply at a time to make my own smokes), I decided that was my last tobacco purchase and redetermined to do the research, no matter what it took, to get myself vaping. Out of the blue last week a long time friend, wonderland here at ECF, told me about this forum knowing of my desire to get off of analogs and begin vaping.

Thanks to this forum and the awesome people here, I am finally on my way. I'm on a very limited budget, so I am keeping with my KR808 for now. I'm sure I'll be doing a home mod and mixing my own juice as time goes on with all the great info here, but this month I spent my usual tobacco budget on some cartomizers, and a small selection of juice and drip tips. Since I'm so broke I figured I'd make a slow transition from analog to vape, using up the remainder of my tobacco.

I'm so blown away. After only 3 days of vaping, I have cut my analog use down from about 2-1/2 packs to under 1 pack per day. Already analogs taste nasty, burn my mouth and I'm starting to smell just how bad my house stinks. I have a feeling I won't be smoking the rest of my tobacco... (and I think I'd better plan some paint into my budget, because if I'm going to wash these walls, I might as well paint them! LOL)

So anyway, thanks to everyone, and vape on!!!:p

I found it best to just rely on my e-cig during the time of transition. If you are using both you won't really start seeing any benefit for some time. It will only make your transition harder switching to vaping if you continue to use analogs. Even my worst cravings were handled by my Blu e-cig lol and to think that was just a crappy device, once I got an eGo and some cartos I was set. Even if it seems hard don't buy another pack of those nasty things lol you will be glad you didn't. Almost a year analog free and I get to play with all kinds of advanced devices now :)

Focus on the enjoyment of vaping, finding juices you like.... narrowing down what nic level keeps you happy. Eventually the smoking will take care of itself. If you can vape through the cravings, do it. Remember that absorption of heavier vapor is not the same as smoke, so a 5-6 minute cig does not equal a 5-6 minute vape. It's more like 10-15 minutes. That one face helped me a lot in the beginning to vape for 10-15 minutes before I decided if I "needed" to smoke or not.

Thanks so much for the support, everybody! I think one of the reasons I do still reach for my analogs is that I'm not quite getting the flavor hit that I want. I've only tried 2 juices so far and although they are nice (Ry4 and cappuccino from SI) I need to order some clove flavor and maybe some tobacco flavored blend. I seem to find the desire for an analog most strong when I want the flavor.

Fyre, I absolutely will NOT be buying any more tobacco, although I haven't smoked over the counter brands for about 4-5 years. I've been on my own blend using natural (no additive) tobacco flavored with Cap'n Morgan's spiced rum and clove oil. So, yeah. I almost think the clove is a bit addictive in and of itself.

Jen, thanks. That's pretty much what I'm thinking. I'm feeling pretty good overall, and I already have my partner hooked on the idea. She loves mine, and I'm off today to do a little more research on the next style of e-cigs to purchase. These KR808's are already giving me small fits now that I'm seriously vaping.

Renolizzie, Haha! I used to do a bit of 4 wheeling in my '78 bronco. Too much fun! These days I keep a 4x, but it's more for getting out the 2 miles of dirt roads during flash flood times.
