I've been vaping about 5 years. In those 5 years, I have exclusively used Riva 650mah 510 batteries. I had bought a couple of kits on sale at Liberty-Flights when I started vaping but my final battery bit the dust. Yes, my batteries lasted 2-3 years each. I could chain vape up to 12 hours from each of them on a charge.

I went back to LF and they no longer carried Riva. So I went to fastech and ordered a couple of their $6 650mah batteries. Garbage. Completely unreliable. They charge for a couple of hours and are dead within 3-4 hours. I found that I have to unscrew and rescrew the battery to the charger when the light flashes green to charge it even more. What used to take a couple of hours or so with a Riva now takes about 5 with taking them off and putting them back on charge to get the most out of them. Sometimes, I can get about 9 hours before they blink out.

Is there a reliable 650mah battery out there that competes with the Riva? I don't want 900 or 1100 because that's just too big and looks ridiculous sitting in my shirt pocket. I was looking at the Innoken iTaste EP 700mah over at MFS. Any thoughts?

The ego style battery market is a real crap shoot. A lot of them are clones that are sold as the real thing. The only advice I can give is get it from a reputable vendor, One that you can take it back to if it is wrong. A reputable vendor will try to let you know what you are buying but sometimes they get screwed too.

I would only recommend genuine Vision Spinners and Joytech Twists.

As p7willm said, it's a real crapshoot as to the quality of the ego market. These two manufacturers have proven to build and sell reliable batteries.

The added benefit is that they are both variable voltage and come in many different mAh sizes.

If you are looking for a reliable vendor, you can choose one from the forum vendor section. I bought my original Spinner starter kit from Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette | myvaporstore but other sellers may be less expensive.

Saying all that, the iTaste is a very popular battery among vapers and has proven to be a reliable product. It's just going to be a little bigger perhaps than you are used to. It's not technically an e-go type battery although it does have a lot in common with them.

Pearl, I don't know how you can vape for 5 years with egos and avoid all the other crap out there. My hat's off to you.

I'm a simple guy that can make do with just about anything but personally, I'll never go back to using unregulated batteries. Look into the iTaste vv. 800mah and pretty much the same size an those egos you're used to. Plus, it's a constant voltage giving your juice the same taste from start to finish.
