Peace of mind.
Solid, durable performance.
Longevity.
Total control and freedom.
Mechs can last forever.
ALL chips eventually fail.
Not everyone vapes at a desk.
And for my recommendation:
My " got to" mechanical.
King knurled clone.
$15-20 online.
Solid and thick, adjustable copper contact, adjustable for battery rattle, recessed button, reverse lock ring.
Built like a padlock and hits like a street corner pimp.
Comes in Brass, Copper, and Stainless Steel.
Excellent first mechanical mod.

Hey, I notice you recommend the King more than once on various threads and it looks more appealing to me every time. I come from using the infinite's Stingray X and I prefer to use it the 510 floating pin top cap. I don't have any experience with the two stage positive 510, but it shouldn't be a problem I assume.
The first thing I notice is that it looks very quite beefy, being a 23mm device it should. Do you have any other variants of the King that you can give feedback on?
I've been looking at the V2 in stainless from Infinite without the knurling.

I think asking for a recommendation is a fine idea. There are literally thousands to choose from. It gets overwelming buying your first.
Question 1: OP, what kind of build are you planning to put in that Mutation? Are you looking to fog out the house?
In my experience, claptons don't work so well in a mech. The whole reason I bought my iPV4 was because my mechs wouldn't fire the pair of claptons I built. They need at LEAST 80W to light up and a mech will only put out about 85W for the first few puffs and less and less with each puff thereafter. Exotic builds have a lot of metal in them and really need lots of power to heat up. That's why you see so many 100w+ mods out there these days.i was looking to put claptons in there.

I have a 2x26650 parallel box. I put a pair of 26/32 KA1 claptons on it @ .24 ohms. 6 wraps @ 1/4" ID. It takes almost 3 full seconds to start making a cloud. You are right about N80 though. I use it in all my other drippers. I haven't tried any exotic builds with it though.Im so lost when people say mechs cant run exotic builds.
