 Okay Im sure this has been addressed before, I just missed it somewhere. I am going to be mixing my first liquids soon. What i want to know before i do is the risks. could smoking the additives that are in the flavoring be harmful to your health?

Okay, I am *NOT* an expert, but here is my honest belief. There are about 3000 chemicals in a regular cig. Whatever is in vaping can't possibly be any worse for me than smoking. I have read reports on them testing PG inhalation on children, it seemed to help their lungs.... but I don't know if the nic fluid would take away from that. All of the flavorings are food grade, we would be eating them anyway.

But as I said, what's the worse that could happen, you could get cancer? ;)

My husband's pain clinic doctor ran an informal test on some juice. I do not have a written report to back this up. He used a few drops from a cart that had some that I had mixed with some flavoring. I honestly don't remember which one it was though. He said that he found in it was the nicotine, the VG and the flavorings. He told us there was nothing toxic that he could find. Like I said, I don't have anything to back this up, just what the doctor said to us.

Well, really, no one is certain 100%. There have been studies on inhaling PG, and I think glycerin/VG to some extent, but most e-liquids also contain some trace level of other things..plus, or as part of, the flavorings. They are of course, generally regarded as safe for consumption/ingestion, but it's unknown if there have been any specific inhalation longer term tests on most flavorings.

The general 'community consensus' is for flavorings - go all natural whenever possible, avoid dyes if possible, but it would seem quite likely to at worse, be far healthier than analogs. YMMV, you've got to make up your own mind here, really..
