A little assistance for a "returner"

Hi all, I've come asking for a bit of information/opinions on returning to the vape scene. At one point in time I had completely quit analogs and was chugging along with my V4L Vapor King. I was able to get several friends/family to order from them and quit smoking but I, unfortunately, returned right back to analogs when they switched from PG to VG. I still adored their products and have never received better customer service from any retailer in my life but was just completely unable to vape the new VG mixes. For some reason whenever I tried it was like my throat would snap shut and I'd get a headache.

So there all of my batts and carts sat while I returned to the corner store for more Camels. Now I'm in a position where my smoking at work is starting to cause problems so I really would like to give it another shot, the only problem being that the only experience I have is with Vapor4Life/the Vapor King setup and now I'm completely lost. I feel as though I've looked at every model in existence from a plethora of suppliers and just have no idea what to do. I'd like a model that could easily be carried to and from work and reliable enough to get through an 8-10 hour shift. I have zero experience with dripping/changing atomizers/etc. and am not sure how much maintenance would go into the different models. I've been looking but have been unable to find a PG liquid supplier so far, which worries me a bit as I'm also clueless as to what mix would be tolerable for me. It would be great if someone with a similar "allergy" would be able to respond with some info on that.

I apologize for the long post but currently have 21 tabs open in Chrome and have hit a point where I'm ready to ball up in the fetal position and start speaking in tongues. Any help on a collection of reviews for models and suppliers, as well as any responses with personal experiences, would be greatly appreciated.

Somewhere out there
Just buy some blank cartos and fill them with your higher PG juices, many vendors let you order the mix you want. You can also get some PG just plain and add to the VG cartos you have or flush them with PG and add another juice to them. Not hard to do! Welcome back! bnrk- ps I am a high PG user too, just can't take high VG either.

Hello the internet... First great screen name..... Welcome (back) to the ECF. Your second question is where to find PG liquid. There are lots of places but i recomend Good Prophets. Great, nay Awesome service plus just about everything you could decide you would want to try. Heres a link to some of the PG liquids option 1 DeKang PG/VG Liquid and option 2 JoyeTech Liquid - PG Based theres a fairly wide array of liquids and i would think that something here would be a grerat place to get your toes re-wet.

As far as devices go if you are a moderate vaper then i would advise hopscotching right past the smaller units and going for a eGo sized device. Like this Joye eGo-Maniac e cigarette Starter Kit and get some good quality (boge) 2ohm cartomizers and you should be set to go. By the way these are regulated batteries and i intentionally reccomended them because of their overall consistancy. You could get an un regulated unit like a kGo but keep in mind that your performance will taper down as you use it througout the day.
Good Luck Happy Vaping.

There are many, many juice vendors who make, or will make on request, 100% PG juices.
If you want an e-cig that will carry you through a complete work shift, you will likely need to skip the ones that look like cigarettes and get something like a kgo or ego. They're about the size of a Sharpie marker.
You can fill a few cartomizers at home and bring them to work, maybe with a small bottle of juice to top off if they start to run dry.

The kGo, IMO, is vastly superior to the eGo units. They're less expensive and more powerful. They actually start at 4.1 volts and taper down, but they'll hit their automatic shut-off point by the time they get so low as the 3.4 Volts that the eGo starts at. You can get a full kit with cartomizers and even some juice at Hoosierecigsupply.com KGO kit1100mAh by SLB

This board is full of happy new vapers who started out with a kGo. You really hear very few complaints about them and they're simple enough for even the newest newbie. And they're pretty inexpensive. There's really no sense anymore in getting one of those cigarette looking things that you have to swap batteries with all the time. The kGo is a tried and true ideal starter unit.

If you're looking to order another kit, you can't go wrong with the Volt lineup from Smokeless Image The 78mm kit should last abou 4 hours of average vaping so you'd need to have 2 batteries with you or the PCC for portable charging. They're small and easy to pocket and are amazing products. Another option is the Volt X2 with a clearomizer. I use the 900mah version and it easily fits into my pocket for great portability and all day vape. The clearo hold 1.6ml of liquid and have yet to have the 900mah die on me. I've used it all day without having to charge it. 1.6ml of juice should last you a work shift no problem I'd think, but the nice thing is you can also use that same battery for the standard 808 cartomizers as well. It's an easy to use system. 2 pieces, battery and Carto or Clearo. If you wanted to drip on them you can always use a 901 atomizer and drip tip (Get the manual batteries though.) I love their products and everyone I've had switch to them loves them as well. We've all given up on analogs because the Volt series and I'm thrilled about it.

Their juice comes in mostly 80/20 PG/VG with some in 90/10 and are all pretty amazing. You say 100% VG was no good for you, but have you tried any mix combination? I'd say start with an 80/20 and see how that feels for you. If not, there are many vendors out there that allow you to customize your juice mix preference. I order from Purevapes.com a local supplie and ECF member. He offers a lot of customization. Adding cold vapor, throat hit, sweetener, whatever mix you prefer of PG/VG etc.

The e-Power would be the best overall choice, but the kGo is more pocket friendly I think, and that's important to the OP.
The volt is pocket friendly, but you're limiting yourself in a lot of ways with an 808 device, not least of which is the power. The Volt is availble with a decent sized battery, but then it's no smaller than a kGo and it still doesn't have the higher voltage.
The kGo has the power of a separate battery mod and the versatility of a 510 mod with regard to attachments, but it's less bulky than the e-Power, even thought it's got a slightly higher mah battery.

Thank you all for your replies. After looking a bit I'm leaning pretty heavily towards the kGo from Hoosier. One thing that I notice is that it comes with "2 big bore cones". Are these something that I should order spares of? I figure that I would start with the kit, an extra few atomizers (I have no clue how often I'll need to change them so I figure better safe than sorry) and a few orders of preloaded carts in different flavors so that I can test the flavors out.

A couple of questions for those of you that have ordered from here, in this link - 510 KGO atomizers - it shows the atomizers but doesn't specify how many you actually get in an order. I would guess that it would be one but the fact that it's plural made me question.

Also, are there any other recommendations for this order? I'm not 100% on it yet but I'd like to build the entire order and compare it to a full order with another kit just to see what I'm really looking at here. I'm still trying to get the hang of the different components (pre-punched replacement tank cartomizers, the prefilled 510 cartridges, etc) so I'm not entirely sure if what I'm considering is overboard or not enough.

Thank you all again for your help. I'll be looking over reviews and whatnot for a good while it seems.

No you don't need extra cones. I have a kgo and the only time I use the cone is when I have a cartomizer that I need to tighten the draw on ( or just for how nice it looks:) ) I wouldn't order the kgo atomizers. Try some LR cartomizers, usually 5 in a box. If you prefer dripping someone else here can stir you in the direction of a good atty for that.

If you want convenience, you want to use cartomizers - they screw on just like the cartridges did on your first kit. I carry 2-3 with me to work and have an eGo in one pocket and a spare carto in the other - it's always got me through the day. The spare eGo batterery is charged and nearby as well. Many times, I'll switch batteries at lunch just to avoid one going dead. I'm all about convenience myself so I just fill/top off cartos in the evening and load my case for the next day. I keep chargers in the office, car, and of course home.

I refuse to run out of anything as I never want to go back to smoking. Today is 4 weeks smoke free for me...

First, congrats to you all on your smoke free lives. There's nothing quite like being able to smell and taste again.

After digging through some reviews I came across this fantastic Youtube review from PBusardo -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0-nj0oelu4 - and I'm pretty sure that this has sealed the deal for me. One thing that really got me though was the mega cartomizer that he uses in that video. Am I correct that this - eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer, Flat Tip - is the same that is being used in the video? If so I'm extremely interested. Does anyone else have experience with these?

Forgive me if I'm asking too many questions, I just want to make sure that I'm solid straight from the get-go instead of going back and forth between analogs and vaping. I know it's kind of redundant but I do appreciate it.

I use the clear version of these so I can see how much eliquid I have left:

Clear eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer, Flat Tip

For me and quite a few others who have posted about DCC's, they seem to work best between 4.5 volts - 5.0 volts. Thats the voltage level many of us use with DCC's. But I would at least give them a try, they may work fine for you at the lower voltage. They just seem to really shine at a little higher voltage.
