Yes it's confusing.
Update your profile to show your location. That will enable people to help you more.
If you are in a really big hurry, you can drive to a truck stop and drop $100.00 and have one in your hand. (That you could have bought for under $50.00 including juice.)
But then you will be on here trying to find out what to do next. Where to get juice? Why it does this? Is it supposed to do that?
If you do your homework here, you can be in pretty good shape for that $100. at least til you know it works for you.
As for all the units. Many suppliers have the same unit under a "special" name. There just aren't that many.
801, 901, 4081, 401, 510, and a couple others, and pipes, and cigars.
Check out the china websites and you will see what most suppliers in the states are selling. Then there are Mods, check the modder's forum and you will begin to understand the GG, Prodigy, Screwdriver... or how you can make your own with a few parts.
And then your addiction turns into a hobby....
Good Luck!

Rule of Thumb: the more it looks like the real thing, the worse the performance and reliabiltiy.

Initial PV's (personal vaporizers) and still the majority but slowly changing were auto switch PV's that activated the battery from inhaling or sound. I STONGLY suggest you stay clear of these and go with the manual PV's that a majority of us experienced vapors have moved to.

The manuals (small button) allow you to heat the atomizer as long as you want producing warmer vapor more like the real thing. The auto's all have battery cut off's that stop power to the battery after a few seconds. If you get any liquid in the battery compartment of the auto batteries (and everyone does), it will gum up the auto switch and kill the battery. With manual batteries, the compartment is sealed so no liquid can enter the battery compartment.

For a beginner, I would suggest either the Joye 510 or the MANUAL (not auto) DSE901. The batteries last about 2 hours and you do get decent throat hit and vapor with these units and they are reliable. If you like these, then you may want to follow many of us who have moved up to the premiere devices that have batteries that last 5-8 hours on a charge and give outstanding throat hit and vapor such as the Prodigy.

I also strongly suggest you buy liquid to refill your carts as it tastes much better than the pre-filled carts, is much more cost effective and has much more variety. Here are several reliable supplier of the 510 and the manual 901:

Rocky Mountain Vapor you have reached the mountain top of electronic cigarettes! : Home
Heaven-gifts.com Ruyandirect.com Best E-smoking Shop
www.eastmall.net - Eastmall International Co.,Ltd

Note: I would also suggest starting at 24 or 18mg strength and moving down if it is too high. You can always make juice weaker but you can't make it stronger.
