A little help with VG/PG and flavor? Trying a new vendor...

All the juices I have ordered so far (which is a lot) have been 50/50 PG/VG. Figured I should start in the middle and I've been happy with it. Now I want to place an order with Copper Creek, but they don't offer 50/50. That's cool, doesn't hurt to try something new and I'll probably order a few samples in both 60/40 and 40/60 and try them out.

However, I'm a little confused. I know VG = vapor and PG = throat hit, but how does each effect flavor? I swear I have heard it mentioned on here before. Flavor is my priority concern .. above either vapor or TH, especially since my taste buds are half dead lately.

Typically pg holds the flavor better than VG. People say VG often has a more muted flavor in comparison but is also sweeter. But as always, everyone is different.

I don't really find a big difference between the amount of flavor on those two ratios. When the VG goes much beyond 60% is where I start to find the taste vanishing. To me, those two ratios are more about tweaking the juice so it physically works better with your device. It can also make some difference in amount of vapor and whether or not you get a build up inside your mouth area from the VG. I only really notice the VG build up with really new juice, like I got done mixing it right before vaping it new juice.

Like the others stated, VG is sweeter and more likely to mask the flavor. One thing I didn't notice being mentioned, VG is also thicker, high ratio VG can cause wicking problems.

You really notice how much thicker VG is when you DIY, high VG juice ratios are preferred by many people. Just like most things vaping related, it comes down to personal preference. I make my stuff around 75% PG, 25% VG, but that is my preference, certainly not everyones.

The only people that say VG does not hold flavor are people who have never had a 100% VG juice.

VG has a very thick vapor, but does not give as much of a throat hit as PG does.

I would suggest that if you are going to try a new vendor, to reach out to them and ask them about their juice. Often times a vendor will make a juice that works best at a certain PG/VG ratio. And sometimes that could vary between the juices from the same place. That way you get their best effort to see if you like the juices or not.

It depends also on the vendor. You won't get muted flavor with high VG from one of the vendors who specialize in high VG juices.

That's a good question that I'm still trying to figure out myself. I tend to like my juice thicker and I use 24mg variety, so throat hit is never really a problem. But of course I love flavor. I tend to switch it up and go 70/30 both ways and prefer higher vg. But the higher PG tends to wick better in carto's for me.

I think 50/50 is kinda getting the best of both worlds, but most places seem to suggest 70/30 PG/VG as the best ratio. I guess the only way to know for sure is to order the juice you love in different ratios to be sure. I vape Boba's Bounty and Gorilla Juice often and they are full of flavor and all VG (may contain a bit of PG, not positive though).

LOL, thanks very much guys. Taking all of your comments into consideration, but I'll probably still try a bit of both.. might as well or I'll never know for myself. I am much more knowledgable now
