Manuals have a button you press to activate the battery and send power to the atomizer. Automatics sense when you draw on them to activate the battery.

While automatic sounds appealing, most people eventually switch to manual and never look back. Automatics tend to be finicky, sometimes activated by noise or other vibrations, and sometimes won't activate when you want them to ... or you tend to draw too hard just trying to activate the battery. Manuals are much easier and more reliable IMO.

You should get a kit to start because it gives a slight discount on the hardware essentials (like the charger). It is a good idea to get a couple extra atomizers from the start too, and maybe an extra battery so you can keep them in rotation.

Definitely get juice. The carts that come with a kit won't last long at all, and that's assuming you even like them. You'll be switching to juice in a hurry.

I'm not big on menthol, so I'll leave the rest for others to comment on...

So your going with the KR808? So did I.

The subtle difference in my opinion between auto and manual is the the manual you can heat it up a bit before you draw to get a bit more vape. I actually prefer the auto when your busy with your hands. Manual for sittin' on the couch. (I've never had an 808 auto go off for sound or vibration. It seems to be a vacume activated switch. IDK, could be wrong.)

I've never used a short. Not sure why you would, but it may fit in a watch pocket I suppose. The XL's are excelent. They last much longer.

I have 1 xl manual, 2 xl autos, and 2 regular autos and I'm good all day. The only time I really need a PCC is when I travel. I vape more when I drive. (I used to smoke more driving too.) The KR808 VK PCC can not fit the XL batteries. At home, on the computer, I use a passthrough to save my batteries.

I have a usb and a mains charger so I can charge 2 at once.

Oh, also if you order from Vape4Life, be sure to get the cool carts. They are a bit nicer. Hold more liquid w/ rubber end. I like em'.

One last thing, there are adapters so you can try the atomizer/cart route with the 808 batteries. A DS901 or a 501. (Actually, no adapter needed for a DS901.) Tried it, glad I have a KR808. Easy.

Well, thats my experience. I'm happy with the 808.

P.S. I don't do menthol. To each their own.

I love the KR808D-1. Everyone above said it best... XL batteries (2 of them), couple charging options, refillable cartomizers (be sure and get juice) and you're good to go.

I'd check around for pricing, there are less expensive folks out there. I got my XL batts for $15 each, PCC for $15, cartos for around $7 for 5 of them, and 10ml juice for $5... all from one site. I've sent many people there, now the guy is running low on stock, lol.

I see so many people love the KR808 cartos, so there`s got to be something to it? Is there an Ego/tornado type batt for the KR808. I just can`t see short battery life, PCC ,and more than 2 batteries.

Or is there an adapter to go from 510 to KR808 to use an Ego, and does it work with the cone?

My first PV was a volcano magnum w/auto batts. I really enjoy it but I don't enjoy the maintaince. Luckily with the KR808 and cartomizers you don't have to worry too much about overfilling a cart and leaking through the atomizer and into the battery. My 2nd purchase was a Vapor King XL and I absolutely love it. Lasts me for the car ride to work through my shift (some of which ten hours) and the car ride home plus some. I also love the convience of cartomizers. I think they are much easier to fill and just work better for me. I also prefer the manual batt to the auto. You don't have to worry about taking a draw just right to activate the battery. Instead you just hit the button and vape. But anyways, welcome to the forum! There is a great wealth of knowledge and there is always someone here that has tried or done almost everything!

I use v4l cartos on my ego with an adapter, once in a while BUT the paper makes the cone too tight. You either have to leave the cone off , or peel the paper off (PITA) Not worth it for regular 808 cartos. Once I found 510 cartos I very rarely use my 808's any more.
The last ones I used from v4l were the premium, which are pretty good cartos but hotter than I would like.
I am thinking about ordering some cool carts though just to see what the hooha is about.

Get one of the starter kits and a XL battery, I started with just a starter kit and wished I had a spare batt. A week later I ordered a XL and a Shorty, I loved the XL until it fell out of my pocket and broke one day.
Also make sure you get some empty carts and e liquid, the pre filled freebie carts I've gotten always tasted bad but the carts I fill are fine.

If your not worried about the apperance buy the dse 905 from electronic ash. It has a 901 connector and get the 901 to 510 adapter that way you can use 901 and 510 reg atomisers and 510 and 808 cartomisers.

The 905 looks like a screwdriver and has a 800 mah battery sure to last atleast 12 hours. The whole kit is like 54.99 and comes with two batts charger and 901 atty so you can try a 901 and see how you like it. Hope this helps.

Use the ecigarettforum coupon code for 5% off and its free shipping. Then go on a quest to find a good kr808 cartomiser supplier.

Sounds like a plan, Lushaboom. Just make sure you carry that extra battery and cartomizers with you. Some run out quicker than others. Having a small bottle of juice handy helps. I keep a bottle at work and several at home. I keep my cartomizers full when I can. You don't want them to burn out dry. Then they're no good.
