Actually, more a tip about possible fake Kanger clearos. I'll save the best for last.
I'm new to vaping, but I'm not new to quality control and small precision parts... and I got what I think is a fake Kanger.
I recently purchased a S3T. The draw on it was the opposite of airy, the vapor was poor, the flavor weak, it flooded and leaked. I had to replace the coil head 3 times just to get it not to leak. I thought, so this is what good vaping is? This sucks! Thinking that maybe it was a copy, I e-mailed the vendor and they stated that they got them from Kanger, as well as the pack of replacement coil units I bought. As you can imagine... not real happy with vaping so far, but I'm the type that perseveres.
So... I bought another S3T (and a few EVODs, which is what I'm vaping as I write this... now this is vaping!) from Mt. Baker Vapor, who states, in no uncertain terms, that what you're buying from them is genuine Kanger. Comparing the real deal and the possible knock-off side by side, the quality of the Kanger from Mt. Baker is obviously better, the overall consistency, the metal finish quality, the o-ring seals, the wick and coil winding, the clearo body, the threads... all of it, all much better than, what I'm now almost 100% sure is a fake.
Now here's the kicker. Remember I said the draw was hard, real hard? The vent holes in the first S3T base were not through holes, but blind holes... they did not go through all the way! Luckily, in my trade I use a tool called a "jet drill", and I have a very extensive set of them, from .007" on up to .097", so I was able to drill the holes out to their original size, all the way through.
So, the next time you buy what you think is genuine Kanger, take a hard look at it, compare it to something you know for a fact is Kanger... and especially if it's a hard hitter, check that the air holes go all the way through the base!
Cheers,
C
PS. No, I'm not going to say who sold me the fake. For all we know, they got cheated by a distributor, and on up the food chain.
