People join Boards to mingle and express themselves.
People rarely take time to READ the RULES :rules:

Often an Excedus is brought on from a Conflict with the Set RULES they should have Read to Start with.
Some leave because they have grown and changed in ways they are seeking a different environment.
Some are escorted out due to Disruptive actions.
Some simply Refuse to accept they are at fault in an incident and Turn their back on all their friends, just to prove a useless point.

Those that move on and Rant about - THAT OTHER FORUM - Show little to no respect for the supposed friends they have left behind.

I have been a member of many forums over the years and I try my best to enjoy each with-in its intended structure and Rules/Guidelines.

:)

As has happened in the past, a misunderstanding with a member leads to them leaving and a few of their friends follow suit, sometimes for a while, sometimes permanently.

ECF's rules about cussing and marketing products don't suit everybody. ECF is the big board for vaping, so some attrition is normal.

I've meandered over there. Truthfully, there is way too much downright HATE over there. I don't need that in my life now (or really at any time). No one place is going to be perfect for everyone. Hang out where you wish. I prefer to hang out here.

I jump frequently between here, reddit and facebook groups, my biggest issue here is linking to other resources or even linking to outside contests is not permitted even if they are hosted by approved manufacturers... Recently although it is over now a manufacturer had a contest for 200 devices, I would have loved to share it with friends here :(

Definitely won't stop me from coming here but it does reduce the amount of time I spend here.

ECF's rules about cussing

Is illogical considering nicotine products are 18+. = adult. = adult language acceptable. Rules for using language towards another member or other types of attacks, trolling, and general bad behavior can exist separately.

Code of conduct is a different issue from 'content'.

Pretend utopia's with nothing but rainbows and sunshine don't exist in real life either. So why bother trying to create a pretend one on the internet?

I think this is one of the reasons I backed off years ago. I hate forums with verbage nanny's.

In regards to cussing, in my opinion, if someone cannot express themselves in a discussion/debate/informational setting without using obscenities, they may have bigger issues than what vape forum to frequent. Just my :2c:

There are plenty of adults who prefer not to use or hear foul language. Just because someone is an adult doesn't mean that they want people to swear at them.

Here's an example: Priest = adult = adult language not acceptable
