In October of 2011 a mod from a guy named Ed Green called the Mantis made quite a splash at VaperCon in Richmond Va. This white delrin square was machined out of a solid block, used magnets on the door and utilized a 26650 battery. All very cutting edge back in mid 2011. Eventually they were discontinued as Ed the Green moved on to making other mods including the popular BAM.
The Mantis with it's horn button, LED, and 26650 battery had very little excess room inside. However I recently saw an aluminum version Ed made that had a tactile switch and because of the thinness of this button there was room for a dna 12 chip. So what else was there to do but kick my Mantis up as well. I left it with ED at Vape Bash, worked out a trade for the work and got it back today. Button is big and very clicky, watts variable up to 12 watts, and it vapes like a champ!

Updating an older mod to increase performance isn't always a plus. In this case it took a really good mod and made it even better than it was before. I am using it for dripping right now and it is a vape machine at about 8-9 watts. This is one mod I will not be letting go of any time soon.
