I've gone almost entirely to eGo types over the past year or so. I've had a few DOAs and a few premature failures of batteries in that time. But, my primary gripe with the eGo type is the horrible track record of the chargers! I go through more chargers than I do atomizers or batteries. Is there something better built? And, if not, when will someone do it?

Not sure what brand you are using but that doesn't seem right. Going on 3 years for me and I am still using my original eGo charger. I use my eGos daily, mind you my gear is from Joyetech.

Since I have so many eGo's and some KR808D's, I got the Joye eGo Mega charger to simplify my very cluttered ecig charging place. It can charge up to 10 batteries at a time, any kind of eGo (from Mini to Twist), 901's. KR808's, 510's etc. Behind each charging slot are blank slots to keep charged ecigs in an upright position. All neat and in one place!

Needless to say, it has really simplified my life. I keep all my charged ecigs in the back slots and know which one is next to put in rotation. Love it!

Ruining an ego charger can be done by overtightening. The inside comes loose and twists and loses connection. It never needs to be more than just Snug- like cartos/attys.

It can also be killed by Not cleaning regularly. It's good to Always clean out the top of the battery and charger everytime you charge.

I've never broke a charger, but tired of the screwing on/ cleaning and switched to a Passthrough. I don't use it as a PT, they're just an quick way to grab and go.

It doesn't seem to matter the brand. I've used many, from no-name to Joyetech ... the result is the same. Flimsy construction, early failure. I have something similar to the multicharger mentioned above. Although it isn't identical, mine is likely an earlier design. I haven't used it since I was using KR-808s in the early days. Maybe I should drag it out and buy some adapters. Thanks for the tips folks. EDIT: Now that I think about it, the multicharger I have could be either native 510 or KR808, not sure, will have to check. Haven't used it in years.

If you have kept your old ones, maybe a friend could repair them for you. I was just reading last week, at the other old forum, that the guys just open up the case and solder the connection back on. Seems easy to do. It's usually just that 1 wire that pulls off. Dragonbone's idea seems like a permanent fix.
It would be great if someone saw enough need to manufacture a multicharger like that one, but native to eGo-type batteries. I'd snatch one up in a heartbeat, and probably a second one as a backup too. While I can see where repairing the 'broken' ones is a possibility, the need to do so simply underscores my primary complaint, that being flimsy, cheap construction.

Revisiting this thread with an option to the standard ego charger. This is an ego-RS with a replaceable battery. You get to keep the ego form factor, but use a standard battery charger.

That eGo-RS is interesting. I'll have to check it out. I've realized the main problem I'm having with the standard eGo chargers. It's the red/green indicator LED. I have a red-green color deficiency and it's VERY difficult for me to perceive the different states in a bicolor LED that is red/green. No doubt, this has led to me over tightening the battery, leading to failure of the charger. Plus, they're flimsy as hell, heh. It sure would help folks like me if they'd use blue/green, or blue/red ... but, we're less than 10% of the population so I'm not going to hold my breath. Even though, I can do that much better now than I could three years ago. :)
