Great article, Vocalek.

Usually the US tries to follow suit on whatever legislation gets passed across the pond, so I suspect more intensive efforts to ban e-cigs will be coming here soon. Many of us I'm sure, have figured out already that Big tobacco will stop at nothing to eliminate all competition and monopolize the e-cig industry..be it through bogus health legislation combined with extensive lobbying OR sabotaging the industry from the INSIDE, a tactic they know all too well. Time to stock up on nicotine and other supplies IMO. ;) Soon you'll need a prescription, over-priced inhalers, etc to legally vape.

Is it my imagination, or are many of the more recent stories starting to be more fair and balanced?

I agree somewhat...

However, I contribute this to the recent emergence of Big Tobacco's versions of the e-cig. All in the name of familiarizing their product with the populace through repetitive visuality. Keep in mind they own huge shares of the "media" industry as well...;)

Not your imagination !!!!!
As the truth becomes public knowledge ...
Those pushing lies become reluctant to publish garbage
because they know ... We will "hammer them" with the truth
and embarrass them in public ... by making fun of them.

Good example is the UK video posted in the Legislation forum ... LINK
:p

Open message to all those publishing fear-mongering lies about e-cigarettes ...
PLEASE continue !!
One of our favorite past-times is posting the truth in your comments sections
pointing out to everyone ... you're an idiot.

Oh, by the way ...
Santa is keeping a list of who's been naughty and nice
:)

NO! It is not your imagination! Kind of ironic, though, that IMO it has been BT's dive into the ecig market and MHRA's outrageous "regulation by press release" medicalization of ecigs (both of which we vapers view as unfavorable to vaping) that seem to have prompted the latest spate of generally more fair and balanced articles on the issue.

I especially love the writer's statement,
"Now, regulatory agencies are wrestling with what is, in many ways, more a philosophical than a medical dilemma..."

Haven't read through all the comments yet, but if no one has, I'm going to try to post about his statement,

"the user inhales a puff of pure nicotine"

Good grief!

I wish they would stop using phrases like "risk free" and "are they safe?" Nothing in life is risk-free. Nothing can ever be 100% safe. It's an absolutely vapid, meaningless chant used to throw off the discussion. It's like saying that we shouldn't use safety belts while driving because even though they are safer they have not proven to be completely safe.

There's good reasons why the sales of bottled water and water purifiers are booming !!
Many don't trust the purity of the water coming from their kitchen taps.
:p

I drink "distilled" water and make my coffee with distilled water.
I know what's in the water that comes out of kitchen taps
AND I've seen the inside of water pipes leading to kitchen taps.

There isn't anything on this planet which is 100% safe
and that includes the air we breath ... especially for those
of us who live in cities.
