Congrats and welcome to the team. I would suggest you start off with a carto before you move onto an atty. Just gives you some time to get used to squonking.
Generally, an atty can last for 3 weeks to a year. Depending on how well you maintain it and the quality of the atomizer itself. Other times it will be out of sheer luck. I have a few atomizers that are about 6 months old and older.
I recommend de-wicking all of your atomizers when you attempting to use them the first time (your choice of course). Then I would prime them with 6 drops. Let it sit for 10 minutes before you vape it. If it still tastes a little dry then do a little blind squonk. That should eliminate the taste issue.
Afterwards, then all you have to do is squonk it every 5 hits like you would with dripping. Or when you taste a decrease in flavor. If you taste a slight hint of a burnt type flavor then that's a good sign to feed your atomizer. Since the next hit will be full blown disgust. As always, I suggest trying the blind squonk method:
1. Lightly squeeze the bottle while taking a dry hit.
2. When you get a slight gurgle then you can stop.
3. Do a couple of primer puffs and then vape.
Be prepared to use all of your atomizers that you have in rotation. Clean them after a day or so and this will make them last a bit longer. Especially if you use primarily VG juices.
Hope that helps
Just picked up a slightly used Reo mini, my first. Just have to wait for it to get here. Man, I'm jonesing to try it. Not sure what to go with when it gets here, a carto or an atty. I have two 306's and one io6 attys, and a slew of Resurrectors. I've never used an atty for anything except to test juices. I like the flavor, th, and vapor from the 1.5Ω io6 over the lr 306's. So just may go with that at first. I'm curious to find out just how long an atty will last, at 8-9 dollars a pop, they better last a good long while. If they turn out to not last too long, I'll probably stay with the cartos. So, I'll be watching for the mail person in a couple days.
