I was looking through my medicine cabinet and found some Auro-Dri. If you're not familiar with it, it's 95% isopropyl alcohol in a 5% glycerin base used to treat swimmer's ear.

Can anyone think of a reason why this would be a bad idea to run through an eGo-T (without inhaling, obviously) for a second or two in order to clean it out?

PGA, denture cleaning tablets and/or vodka (highest proof you can find) are safer and work just fine. I soak mine for a few hours, rinse with distilled water, reapeat if needed, do a quick dry burn (if needed). I also recommend vaping a tankful of either unflavored or pure PG/VG mix to dissolve the gunk that tends to build up on the coil. As soon as I notice that the ejuice in my tank begins to darken, I fill the tank with unflavored and vape it until the juice runs clean again. This prevents the gunk from accumulating and lengthens the time between cleanings.

That said, ISO is a good cleaner and if you rinse your atty thoroughly with distilled water after the soak and let your atty dry completely, you should be OK.

Happy vaping! :)

Hold on, distilled water after vodka? wouldn't one of the benefits of using alcohol be the quicker evaporation and not have to worry about standing water left inside?

I'm pretty sure Katya meant using DI water after isopropyl alcohol (not PureGrainAlcohol or ethyl alcohol, the kind you can drink), since isopropyl alcohol is poisonous and all. I avoid grain/ethyl alcohol for religious reasons, dumping my atty's into water fresh from the kettle and letting them dry for a day works well enough :D

Yes, you're correct--alcohol evaporates quickly. But some people avoid alcohol altogether, for different reasons (see above), and I feel that denture cleaning liquid also needs to be rinsed off (it does taste minty and who knows what else is in there), so that was a general recommendation. If you use PGA or vodka, you don't need to rinse.
