buy a candy cig and add effects in post production.
Sorry Miura, but I don't buy any of your reasons/excuses for wanting to buy an e-cig at all!!
First of all, have you ever seen any of the vids on Youtube of people actually vaping?? No matter HOW much it looks like a real cig (analog), it in no way even closely resembles the real act of smoking. There is no lit part with ashes on it, no wisp up smoke curling up from the tip and swirling around when inhaled... nope, it just looks like you are sucking on an unlit cig with a little light on the end, until you exhale, and then this vapor magically appears!!

And you will never get any film noir close-ups of a lone cig smoldering away in an ashtray full of cigarette butts...
Second, I am not a therapist, but I have been in enough therapy in the last 10 yrs. to spot someone who is in serious need of help...
I have/had been smoking a pack-a day for close to 40 yrs. and was deeply concerned about gaining weight if I should ever decide to quit. (btw, I've been tobacco free for 13 days now - woohoo!!) I'm 5'9", slender, and have maintained my weight between a 10-15 lb. range for my entire adult life. For me, smoking was more about nerves and a sense of oral gratification <tee hee>, not a 'fixation' as you described your problem with sweets.
I started having problems with Panic/Anxiety Disorder, with a touch of OCD thrown in for good measure, about 10 yrs. ago. I am on medication and have a therapist now who makes house calls, since I don't get out too much these days. I quit drinking almost a year ago and, at my Dr's request, smoking seemed to be next on the list... but I wasn't quite ready to give up the only vice I had left!! Ha!!
E-cigs seemed to be the perfect compromise for me, but it also involved a whole lifestyle change and a lot of commitment on my part, not something you want to do just on a whim. And there was one side effect that I hadn't planned on... I found the ability to control the intake and exhaling of the vapor to be very soothing and have a calming effect, almost replacing some of my deep breathing and relaxation techniques!!
So if you are looking for e-cigs as a placebo to replace your fixation for food and/or sweets, I think you've come to the wrong place!!
My suggestions to you are:
If you want to simulate smoking in a film, go out and buy yourself a pack of tobacco ones, and do like Bill Clinton did with pot... DON'T INHALE!!
For your addiction to food and/or sweets... Seek professional help and/or join a good support group!!
Best of Luck to you!!
