It's time for me to get ready to give up the analogs. :( I bought a ProVari Mini, extra batteries, 5 atomizer cartridges, a plastic like tip and a gallon of VG. Today I ordered flavor. Tonight I will order Nicotine. Yes, I'm scared! Giving up my best friend cigarettes.... So I want this vaping to be pretty right so I don't 'slip' back. Can you help me a bit at a time? My first quandary is, do I need a clearomizer or is the atomizers that I have bought gonna do it? Or do I need a cartomizer? Mind you, I do not know what those things are but is one better than another? I'm pretty excited too. Thank you!

Hi there and welcome!
An atomizer has a coil that you drip a few drops on and you get a few drags out of it then have to drip a few more drops. A cartomizers is has an atomizer and filler. The filler saturates with juices and you can Vape on it longer. I personally like carto tanks, it's a tank that holds a cartomizer with holes so the juice gets absorbed into the filler from the tank. Very convenient! A small tank lasts me a day or close to it, I think. I switch my tanks a lot, ADD of the taste buds. :D

Way to jump in with the $$$$ right off the bat

first off I would read the diy eliquid forum from front to back and then sideways - 100% vg juice is going to be really thick, hard on to wick in clearos, but will give massive vapor but makes the throat hit and flavor very muted

did you order atomizers to go with the atomizer cartridges you mentioned (cartridges usually just have a little bit of foam to hold 5-10 drops of eliquid - cartomizers will hold 20-25 drops - clearomizer will hold .9 to 2+ ml (about 35 drops of pg/vg blend liquid - 100% vg is about 25 drops per ml)
Protank and evod are the new big thing (I like mine anyway) in tanks and clearos and have interchangeable atomizer heads

DIY nic liquid in strong strengths (48 to 100 mg) is extremely dangerous to you, kids, pets, and anyone else that may come into contact with it (100 mg can and will kill an adult if spilled on skin and not cleaned off right away - as in within a minute - if a child drinks it, it would be bad, very, very bad) not trying to scare you, well, yes, yes I am trying to scare you - but you would be best ordering a 24 -36 mg unflavored nic juice and diluting down from there until you know how to handle it

I am sure more experienced vapors will be chiming in shortly with more and better advice

welcome to ECF and good luck with quitting the analogs

You can also try juice from some trusted vendors to figure out your personal flavor preferences/VG/PG ratios, etc. Your nicotine and VG won't go "bad" while you are experimenting. Try some MOR (in price) juice vendors so you can get your proverbial feet wet. DIY is easy in theory! Go to the General E Liquid Forum and lurk around to get some ideas. Have fun. A member here by the name of "Baditude" has some great blogs about the different types of juice delivery devices. Go here for some great information: E-Cigarette Forum - Baditude - Blogs

Welcome... I have wanted to get into DIY juice but I have been scared by the safety warnings. Please be very careful. Good Luck!!!

It's not that difficult. Just keep your puppy away from the juice and take care and clean up if you have any spills and you and your puppy will be fine.

I have a roll of paper towels close at hand at all times when I'm mixing.

I have 4 dogs. :)

That is a beautiful dog BTW;

Thanks...
That is my working service dog Justin. He is also my fellow vaping partner (second hand)

Okay, shoot. I have more work to do, like order a carto tank and some PG. I got the ProVari as I am something of a 'Prepper' as well so I have an eye on having a years supply of vaping stuff on hand with quality delivery. Everything I know I learned here. Yesterday, I learned about a meter to check the strength of the nicotine which I'll try to find. And as a prepper, I would think that 100 mg of nicotine would really last a long time since it would have to be diluted so very much, yes? Your information was valuable, thank you.

LOL, that's prepping right there brother.
While you're at it, you might want to get yourself a cheap ego spinner and a CE4 or something and see if you like vaping. You can always use them for backups.
I dunno about buying all that and not even starting vaping, that's having conviction in your beliefs sir - and good luck to you.
