DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!
i have never "dripped", and yes i probably could find the answer to my question if i hunt long enough on this forum, maybe.

ok, so how come dripping directly on an atomizer doesnt cause flooding, if me putting one too many drops in my cart can cause flooding, and it aint even in "direct" contact with atty? am i missing something?

AND.....

so i vape alot, i mean chain vape....at least with carts, i might not have "refresh" with more drops for 5 minutes or so, but if you were dripping direct to an atty, i would think it would evaporate very quickly and i'd be having to open up the eGo and take out the atty constantly to put more drops on.

i just dont "get" dripping....and i know, by now, you think i would, since i have been in the vaping world for 2 years plus!

Thanks yall and pardon my ignorance!

It can cause flooding if you dont pay attention (Ive filled my entire atty with juice because I was watching a funny video on the PC and squeezed the bottle too hard lol) but flooding isnt a big deal, a quick blow and off you go again. Once you get into dripping, then refreshing takes seconds. I much prefer to drip.

thanks yall. the direct guide to dripping was helpful. i had an idea how to drip, but i just still dont understand how you can even put one drop on the atty without it flooding. i would think direct dripping would automatically flood it,. i just dont get the concept but will re-read until i do. sorry....im a real blonde lol

I was in the same boat as you, try this.

Take a cart you don't need anymore and remove the poly fill or whatever is in it.
Put the cart on pv and vape 3-4 puffs to help clear up the atty.
Put 2 drops of your favorite juice on the mesh inside your atty, then vape:)

Took me just a short while, around a week, to get to the point that I could start to recognize by taste when it was time to redrip.
If you get into it, you will get to the point that you will get tired of removing the empty cart to drip and will eventually get a drip tip.
I semed to me in the begining that dripping was a weird concept, that the juice would flood or seep out, but it doesn't. The mesh and wick really do hold the juice in.
Just go 2 drips at a time at first. I use a 510 and started out using 3 drops but would get flooding if not careful.
If it does flood, you get really heavy gurgling or if it starts to get hard to get any vape, I remove the atty, leaving the drip tip on (for you remove the cart if you don't have a drip tip), then blow from the end you insert the cart. Be sure you got a tissue on the threaded end.
2-3 blows should yield some juice on the tissue. Then I reassemble and vape. Starts working fine once the excess is blown out.
If I had a spare drip tip I'd send it to you to try but I don't.
I'm sure someone could PIF you one or trade one for a little juice.
In the mean time try it with the emptied cart.
Last point, for me
I started using carts with filler removed because it seemed to "cool" the vapor a bit for me. Within a week I was pulling out the end cap on the cart. Day or two later I was using a drill bit to make the cart a hollow tube so I could drip through.
Thats when I knew it was time to get a drip tip and I was hooked.:D
Then when I got tired of cleaning attys I removed the mesh and bridge and haven't looked back.
There is a thread about bridgeless dripping that has relevant info about cleaning, I'll pm you the link if you like.

I wondered the same thing at first. Here's my theory on it. If you put a filled cart on the atty it will make contact with the poly fill. Juice will immediately wick into the pores of the mesh through capillary action. A cart will just provide a small reserve of liquid on which to draw. Dripping simply fills the mesh but provides no reserve.

I find dripping more convenient and use it exclusively on my passthru at the computer. I have to refill more often but it's less hassle. For mobile use I use carts or cartos because I don't have to refill as often.
