A little background: I am a service provider for a slightly mentally and physically handicapped person who smokes. We have been trying forever to get him off analogs (doc's orders) At this point we are trying to get him an electronic device so we can get him off the analogs and off of nicotine, which we all figure would be a plus.

I just read the thread on adding vodka to the mix which in our case may not be a good idea, so I guess it would be better to go with distilled water?

So what I am looking for is a recipe for 30ml (plan to stick it in a JC bottle and not mention it has no nic) I have the VG which we figure would be better than the PG and has the advantage of more vapor, I have a stock of flavorings and plan to make something vanilla/nutty flavored. Problem is, I suck at figureing things out, so I need a really GOOD starting point that might not need to be fiddled with too much. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

A few questions and a couple possible solutions:

Questions
  1. Why is it important to get him off nicotine? Off analogs of course. But nicotine (although highly addictive) is not what is damaging his health.
  2. Why switch entirely away from PG? Is he allergic?
  3. Are you aware that vaping probably will not wean him off either the "smoking" habit or his nicotine addiction? Using a JC bottle might trick him, but it won't trick his body (which will still crave nicotine).
Possible Solutions:
  1. People who use high voltage devices like passthroughs (I recommend Puresmoker's) or the fat ones (like Prodigy, GG, or Screwdriver) say that they get the same throat hit from about half the nicotine level. And also get much more vapor and flavor.
  2. If you are going to eliminate or cut back on nicotine level, why not use more intense flavors than vanilla? For example, tobacco (e.g., flue cured or cigar), RY4, or Spearmint.
As for proportions (your actual question), check out Kate's Eliquid Recepies (sic) thread.

Good luck!

Getting him off the nic is necessary due to budgeting problem. At this point he is down to 4-6 analogs a day. He does roll your own and is down to less than half a bag. So he's not getting much nic now so we don't want to go back up in any way. I may add some nic to the initial batches slowly bringing it down to 0. Don't know as of yet since this will be a group decesion after talking to his doctor.

The VG over the PG is because I am allergic and I will be 'donating' the juice so as to save him some money.

I do not have a tobacco flavoring as of yet. So am going with what I have, but am looking into getting some, but it may not be in time. He dislikes menthol so figured minty was out. I will ask him though. I do have some mint 11mg juice which I could add to give it more flavor and a small amount of nic. I also have clove which is very tasty, might try that. Thanks so much for the suggestions. Also thank you for the link.
