A PBusardo Review - The Halo Sample Pack

IMPORTANT:

The little rant I throw in this review turns out to be my own fault.

The rant was regarding the contents of the sample pack not matching what I was reading off their website.

I contacted the company about this. I ordered the sample pack on 4/18/11. They changed the contents of the pack AND the website on 4/20/11. This is the source of the confusion and the rant.

What I read off their website were the NEW sample pack contents. That's why it didn't match what I received.

My apologies to the viewers and to Halo. I got no problem admitting when I'm wrong!

Also note that the rep from Halo was extremely pleasant and they returned my email very quickly.

HOWEVER, since I ordered so close to the change, it would have been nice to be notified of the change and given the option to have the new sample pack instead of the old.

An annotation has been made to the video review.

Much like yourself, I wanted to try some and did. Out of Tribeca, Smooth 8, Freedom juice, and Torque 56, I only liked the Freedom. Even Freedom is a so-so flavor. As you stated in your great video, taste is subjective.

Yeah, nothing really jumped out at me as something I would HAVE to buy again, or made me say UMMMM THAT'S GOOD!
Just glad I had a chance to try them out.

I hope that's not the case for me, since those were the two newest flavors and the ones I was looking most forward to. Did you email them, and if so, what was their response? Thanks for the review, although I was hoping to see more thumbs up....

Sorry Jackinkc! But you know me, I call'em as I taste'em. Nothing screamed "BUY ME" from the pack. Especially after all the juices I've been trying lately.

Yeah, do let me know if it comes with the juice listed on the site. Too bad you ordered already, I could have sent this one to you for the Vaperite!

Looks like there's a disconnect between their marketing department and their stock/shipping department. You received their old sampler (the same one I got a few months ago). Tribeca and Tiki (and, I guess, Malibu, which I've not tried) are their newest juices, not yet in their samplers. Maybe Jackinkc will get the new sampler.

I happen to love the Torque 56 ... and I think that many tobacco-flavor vapers (of whom you are not one) would like it, especially those enjoying more intense flavors (the Freedom juice is a mild flavor). Too bad you didn't receive the Tribeca and Tiki; I got 5-ml samplers of them along with my 30-ml Torque 56 order this week and have been enjoying them. I want to spend more time with them before commenting further.

Another informative, enjoyable review ... although you seemed crankier than usual;-) (probably because you didn't like the juice that much).

As for substance vs. show, I like both ... if I spend any time with the item. That is, I couldn't care less about the outside container that PVs or juice come in, but I do care about what my PV looks like (and how it feels in my hand) and how easy it is to handle the juice bottle. [I feel the same way you do about Alien Vision juice bottles ... but, if you think they're bad, wait till you try sampler bottles from Vapor Station. That is the bottles, the juice is pretty good.]

I think it may have had something to do with the time. I finished that one at midnight.
And you're right, I wasn't at all "jazzed by the juice".

I ordered a sample pack on the 25th.. Mostly interested in sampling the Tribeca and the Malibu..I hope I get a NEW sampler as advertised.

My sample pack came today with the new ones. I have only tried 1 so far..Menthol Ice. I like it.. not for all day vape for me but a great diversion from non menth tobacco. I like that it doesn't have that Ben Gay flavor/aroma that I have come across....which was awful.
