It seems like if you are vaping 0 nicotine you are essentially going cold turkey.

I smoked 6-7 cigs a day and started with 6mg. In four days I've had 2 cigs, both when my EVOD was acting up (bad atomizer). When I want a cig, which I don't much so far, I just vape through it. I had the same issue of not wanting to use too much nic because I didn't want to wind up MORE addicted to nicotine than before I started. I still worry about that because I REALLY like vaping. I bought 3mg when I got a second shot of juice. If it doesn't work I'll stick with the 6 for awhile longer. The 3 has to steep, anyway.

I'm very new at this, so time will tell how this plays out.

As for the 3 puff thing, I do the same. When I was nearing the end of smoking I did the same with my cigarettes. It is just how I do it I guess. Probably burning e liquid, coils, and battery life faster than I should, but I don't care. At least I'm not smoking. I'm off of conventional cigarettes for a month now, and I'm shocked it wasn't so bad with vaping.

As for the nicotine level, I went with 18, and am now starting to ease back. If that low level works for you, great. If not, increase it, and then ease off.

I must admit I am really afraid to get the 18mg. It kind of reminds me of the nicotine patches days. I got really sick when I had the first patch, had to remove it asap.
Maybe it is even harder to quit for people on lower doses..

I don't think so, really, but I'm not sure it's any easier, either. I think the relative strength of nicotine that a body can endure says more about the health and weight/mass of that body, than about the strength of the attachment, the mental habit, mental addiction. I smoked 6mg ultra-light cigarettes for 20 yrs, and I smoked usually about a pk a day; less in bad weather, more in nice weather -- but anytime I had to go for more than an hour without a cigarette, I was completely beside myself, in a total panic. Every other attempt at quitting (4 previous) failed miserably, and I had just given up on the idea that I could ever quit. But I'm vaping anywhere from 6mg to 9mg quite contentedly, not smoking, and very few cravings, and even those few are quite mild, compared to my previous experience with trying to quit -- very easily ignored when you're vaping and enjoying it.

Hi, I'm day 4 of quitting, and it really does work! I was on Marlboro lights, so a bit stronger maybe, but def need the 18 mg to satisfy the cravings. Also agree about long, slow puffs, you get more vapour and a 'hit'. I'm afraid I'm too new to answer any of your other questions, but well done us on quitting the real fags!!
My plan is to get used to being off the fags first, then try and gradually reduce the nicotine levels

Hi,

I used to smoke about 25 Pall Mall blue cigarettes a day of 0.6 nicotine strength.

The person in the shop suggested I should take 18 mg e liquid but I decided to take 6mg.

Hi Anya. You might in trouble on 6mg. 18mg would/could have been ideal for you at this time.

My wife smokes 25 x 0.7 a day and she is trying on some 18mg and some 24mg. Getting off the cigarettes is the no.1 objective at first.

A lot depends on the "physical" e-cig as well.... some are good, some are less good. Does it look like a cigarette or something altogether more advanced (bigger)?

If you like in London, be careful shopping at e-cig shops...some of them are very, very expensive.

have a look on here to get an idea of prices.

You definitely are using too low of Nicotine for the amount you smoked. I would recommend getting a 12mg for everyday vaping and a 18mg or 24mg for more intense cravings (the time you feel you really need a analog) I also think you should try a dual coil tank with a twist style battery. You will be able to get a denser vape that you can fine tune to your preference. You're going to want to drop the analogs as soon as you get a well working setup. They have many other chemicals that can be addictive besides the nicotine. You need to purge your system of them. If you drink lots of water, and things like juice and tea it wont take long. After about a week you will only have a craving for nicotine which vaping will satisfy. Best of luck my friend.

Commit a felony. No Smoking in prison. Next try NRTs. If they don't work and most likely won't try Chantix. If you are still alive and that fails try vaping. One could try vaping first but that would be the easy way.

I don't think the prison strategy has been tried yet.

... I have several types of electronic cigarettes at home, bought in past 4 years and none worked for me. I love the real cigarettes and I am afraid it is going to happen again.
I just wish with all my heart it doesn't happen this time. I also tried the replacements and was taking Champix. Champix was the worst experience in my life.

The shop I went to is in Camden Town (e-vap.co) and the prices on the website are the same as the prices I paid. I got a big battery, the charge me 14 pounds for it, it lasted for 2 days the first time, it is quite robust but when I recharge it it only goes for 1 day now or a half of a day) Thank you for the link. I will have a look..

I was a pack a day smoker for over 20 years. I have found 18 mg to be comfortable. I tried 24 and could feel it on the back of my throat. I didn't want to waist it so I got some 0mg and mixed it 50/50 and have liked the 12mg hybrid it made. In any case you need to have nicotine in whatever you vape if you want this to work, even if it is only 6mg. And puff any way you like as long as you keep puffin and stay off the cigs. I believe you call em fags across the pond though. Your on the right track. Don't give up. Happy vaping!
